If I could do 0 stars I would! Buyer Beware- they rip off elderly people and their families-$4200 Our stairlift for my mother hasn't worked and still in first year of warranty- had servicer come out numerous times with the past 2 visits using the excuse that it was too dark to work on it. They send a clown out when no ones home he moves the chair and now the rail is damaged. Burning time and now telling me our warranty is up.

We have the Acorn stairlift and I called to have it removed as we no longer needed it. I was told they could remove it for $300 and they don’t take it with them. They leave it for us to get rid of. I’m a senior and the cost and weight of trying to remove it myself doesn’t work for me. Just beware if you ever need to get rid of it, you’re stuck paying for it and finding your own way to dispose of it.

I have had the stairlift for 21/2 months It broke and I was caught in the middle of the stairs with my leg caught between the chair and my wall. Called the company and their attitude was they did not care. It was 9 days before the could send out a service tech. Both my son and I talked to several “managers” without any help. The tech did finally come out today and could not do the repair as he did not have the part. I was told the only person who had the part was 100 miles away and now it would be another 8 days till it could be installed. My son asked to overnight the part nearby and they said they could not do that and even if they did there was no one available till next week on the... Read More

Many repairs and terrible customer service! Wait times for repairs can be anywhere from 2 weeks to one month. People who purchased this, need it, so wait time for repair is unacceptable!

I have had my Acorn Stairlift for about 16 months. The personnel are professional and the product has performed in general as intended. The problem was a failure and the upside panel (key and light) let go as it has a poorly designed support bracket that ultimately cost me $342.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! Only had our stairlift for 4 months and its falling apart! Mom was coming down the stairs with it when the lover safety cover flew out, called Acorn, took over 3 weeks for someone to come out, when they finally did they said it will cost $250.00 plus the service call! When supposedly it has a year of warranty, and it hasn't been 10 months for the free maintenance service. YET they expect me to pay! PLUS stairlift makes a lot of squeaky noises as you ride on it and is not stable. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS, for anyone who is in need for either themselves or a family member. Only selected 1 star cause I had to in order to post my review, if not then I would not give... Read More
