CIGNA IS LEAVING ME WITH A GAP IN MY MOUTH AND IS FINE WITH THAT - unless I want to pay 100% out of my pocket. Last year I had a bridge put in to cover tooth #19. The bridge attached to #18 & 20. #18 tooth cracked and needed to be pulled, which means there is no tooth there to hold the bridge. So my dentist gets a preauthorization for an implant on tooth #19, they approve but don't pay, yet I paid my share for the implant. They didn't pay because they will only do major work on a tooth every 8 years. I appealed, they said sorry, won't help you. It's our policy. Frustrating... ***They did tell me to go after the dentist who is reviewing the case. They likely won't do anything... Read More

CAUTION! I contacted Cigna DHMO today for a list of in-network providers because my wife broke a tooth. After calling the first 13 dentists on the list I realized I I had fallen for it. Not one of them accepts this insurance. Fortunately it only costs $2 or $3 a week, but unfortunately it appears to have no value and I'm sure I will have to pay for it throughout the year via my employer until the next annual enrollment period. It appears this company is all done and is trying to get the last cash they can.

The worst customer service agents. They provide false information and then the management denies the false information was given even though they have recordings of the conversations. The are not Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Cigna never even bothered to respond to the complaint. Obviously, in my opinion they knew they were wrong and lied and would have to reimburse me for a dental procedure that was covered by my plan. Buyer beware!!!

Between wife and I we are paying $1080 per year in premiums, yet every time we go to the dentist (Cigna appears to only "allow" twice per year, our cleanings or exams are barely covered by the plan. At 70 years old, neither of us have major dental problems. We enrolled in a plan with Cigna three years ago that was supposed to provide increasing levels of coverage for each successive year we were in the plan up to three years. So far, we haven't seen any increase in any coverage levels. From a cost benefit analysis, Cigna is not worth the money. Jim Fraser Chapel Hill NC

Cigna dental insurance is a joke. After my 1 year wait period is over, they increase premiums by 27% and my premiums + deductible is now just a few hundred dollars below the plan maximum! How else could one be ripped off? Stay away from this company.

I FIRST CHOSE CIGNA DENTAL BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE TOLD ME THIS DENTAL INSURANCE IS GOOD....HOW MOST DENTAL INSURANCE WORKS IS WHEN YOU FIRST ENROLL YOU PAY YOUR MONTHLY FEE OF $36.00 YOU PAY THIS AMOUNT EVERY MONTH FOR 12 MONTHS UNTIL YOU CAN OFFICIALLY USE IT...WHEN MY YEAR WAS UP MY MONTHLY FEE WAS NO LONGER $36 A MONTH THEY RAISED IT 10 DOLLARS TO 46 A MONTH AND AFTER THAT AN ADDITIONAL $2 SO I NOW PAY 48 A MONTH WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AND NOW CIGNA IS MUCH BIGGER COMPANY WITH OVER A MILLION CUSTOMERS ...THEY ARE EXTREMELY GREEDY NOW...IF I KNEW I WAS GOING TO BE PAYING $48 A MONTH FOR DENTAL INSURANCE I WOULD HAVE LOOKED ELSEWHERE...I WAITED A YEAR TO USE IT... I AM NOT HAPPY... Read More

As a dental provider, I can say Cigna is in a race with United Concordia for the worst dental insurance available. They have no way of telling which Doctors are considered in network for which plans. I often feel more confused following a 15 min phone call with customer service. With today’s computers and websites it should be a click of a mouse to find out provider status. If you have any say with your employer, vote no for Cigna. It will save you a lot of time and headache and money

I fully agree with the labeling Cigna "the worst" . Cigna sent the same letter over and over stating “delayed pending receipt of additional information” even though my dentist office has sent them EVERYTHING they need, they had worked with my primary provider for at lease 6 year,s and I followed up by sending the information myself 4 times. They really should be ashamed of their service level to customers!!
