Humana Dental Insurance Review

Humana is one of the country's largest providers of dental insurance. They provide dental insurance for individuals, groups and employers. There are no pre-certification requirements and a co-payment option is offered.

What's included with Humana Dental?

HumanaOne Dental Preventive Plus

This dental PPO plan offers low deductibles, no copayments, and provides 100% coverage for many preventive procedures. This plan does not require a dentist selection.

HumanaOne Dental Value plan (C550 and HI215)

These dental prepaid plans have low copayments for many dental procedures and no waiting periods. Both plans require you to select a primary dentist.

HumanaOne Loyalty Plus Plan

This dental plan rewards members for loyalty by increasing benefits from years one to three, with increasing coverage on services like routine exams, root canals and crowns, a one-time deductible for as long as you are on the plan, and no copayments or waiting periods. You can go to the dentist you prefer with the comfort of knowing this plan pays the same percentage of the cost no matter which dentist you visit.

HumanaOne Simple Choice Plan

This dental plan is simple to understand with fixed costs for services and no deductibles. You are not required to select a dentist for enrollment, and you have the choice of the general dentist you prefer from over 170,000 providers in the HumanaOne Dental Simple Choice network.

I do not recommend it. I work at a providers office. They are awful to deal with and do not care about the patients at all.

worth less and frauidulant. it says it covers root canals and does not make any distinction between molars and anterior teeth. You find a dentist on the plan (the first couple say they no longer take it) and when you get there the dentist says we don't do molars, you need a specialist. Plan book says $300 for molar,, but an appointment with a specialist is $1000

4 out of 5 phone calls result in nothing accomplished except a waste of phone minutes because the representative can't help you. The 5th call will give you a representative offering to fix everything. Nothing will be resolved, hang up and you will be exactly where you started. Look fir a REAL insurance company with ethics (I know, dream on!) The least lying, hypocritical scum you can find. FYI BCBS even worse!

Worst dental plan you can get. Takes 1 hour to customer support, and coverage is terrible

Unfortunately, I did not have Humana Dental Insurance long enough to know if I was happy with their coverage. I am extremely dissatisfied with their customer service. At first I ordered both Dental & Vision, but when I realized the expense was too great, I called to cancel my Vision. The CSR could not have been more rude about my request. While I was rendered a refund for the Vision, the next month I realized they had cancelled the Dental coverage as well. When I called to fix the problem, another rude CSR came on the phone and told me that I myself had cancelled both policies and that I would have to pay another initiation fee for the Dental (keep in mind I did NOT receive a refund... I enrolled for Humana Dental about 4 months ago and they barely cover anything although I signed up for one of the higher plans. I had to seek insurance through my employer and am now trying to cancel. The phone system was great until the final step. I have been on hold for 38 minutes and counting. I found a cancellation form online and have faxed it over. It doesn't have a box to check Dental so I manually wrote it. Do not sign up for this insurance. So typical, you sign up easily and to cancel is a mission.

They are the worst! You can spend most of your day trying to find someone that can actually help you. The reps have little knowledge and they struggle at getting the payments sent to the correct providers and address'. I would not recommend them to anyone!

My Humana Benefit Summary says they pay 80% of fillings for amalgam and composite, but declined to pay the composite filling. The proceeds to say it was only for certain teeth, although it does not mention any limitations and/or exclusions under the benefit summary. Thiefs!

I live in Tampa, Florida, and I have been on the Humana Dental Plan HI215 Plan for 6 years!!! This plan has a monthly premium of only $12.99/mo and I go twice a year for cleanings and exams. I pay a $15 Co-Pay each time. All of my x-rays are: No Charge!!! I selected an In-Network Humana Dental Provider close to my home. I receive a 25% discount if I go to a Specialist, like periodontitis, gum disease, endodontist, root canals and I have had several crowns. If you need a great dental plan and live in Florida, this is the one!!!
