I had the LeafFilter installed so I would not have to clean the gutters, but I still have to get on the roof to clean them. I would not advise any one with trees close to the house to buy these. I feel I just wasted my money.
Wish I had read the reviews for this company. We called their number and set up an appointment for someone to come out to our house in Delaware. He showed up on time and was a very nice guy. We read the material and decided to have the Leaf Filters. The installers showed up on time and went straight to work. Problem was neither of the installers spoke English and I had trouble understanding them. The worked straight through and finished quickly. Two days later I was mowing my yard and noticed many pieces of metal they had dropped into the grass and did not clean up. There were two aluminum nails that had to be at least 4 inches long. Our experience with Leaf Filter has haunted us since our purchase. Arguably one of the biggest regrets my wife and I have. First, the company came out and installed the product on a rainy day. This is not a good idea when you need to have watertight seals established in the gutter system. The install was so poorly done that we had to have multiple house calls to get the product installed correctly. We finally did get a top-notch technician to come out and get everything fixed so we were finally starting to feel good about our experience. So for those of you that read reviews, you will know how awful our experience with Leaffilter has been. We have had the original installer back twice and his choice to fix his mess was gobs of epoxy glue that is now the decor of my front walkway cause that’s all you see and the gutter is away from the house because he took out the nails and held it together somehow by glue. Then the next inspectors came and were inshock and went back to their offices with a horrendous report and the we chased down the local manager who couldn’t come out a Thursday cause “it was payroll day” for which they had my fourteen hundred dollars to help with and, oh , yes, told us “this was the first he heard of... I had thought that getting Leaf Filter was going to be the end of getting up on the ladder to clean gutters. I no longer clean the inside of gutters but there are places that need to be cleaned regularly of roofing grit and leaves and dirt where corner guards were placed so up on the ladder I go. When I called to find out about removal of Leaf Filter gutter guards I was told that since it was more than a year since the gutter guards were placed there would be a charge. I tried to remove a section myself, but it is screwed in so tight that I have not been able to get it off. I do not recommend this product. We had a nightmare experience with this company! $11,000 for soffit, fascia boards, and gutters with mesh. We did total tear off, and clean up ourselves. Company only needed to put on fascia boards. Soffit, and gutters. Contract was badly written and hard to read. Contractors copy was different from what was given to us. Stated one day job but took 3 days. No raft ends needed as stated in contract. Ordered vinyl received aluminum: which was what we wanted to begin with.. Did not seal gutters which now causing leaking down fascia boards which was the problem we were correcting. Husband bought sealant to go around the whole house and seal gutters until roof edges. The company representative arrived as scheduled for the estimate to install the gutter filters. When I made the appointment I specified that he had to wear a mask. Not only did the boorish company rep refuse to put on a mask but he resorted to name calling and insults. I threw this badly behaving boor off our property and was prepared to have him arrested. Remember that he came to make a sale based on the company’s national advertising. Just imagine what their warrantee is worth. My recommendation is not to deal with this outfit. If you need gutter leaf filters use a local contractor.
I am not happy with this product AT ALL! . After having them through a winter with lots of snow, ice and melting, we had many huge icicles and even a terrible ice dam that leaked into our garage! The freezing and thawing could not get through the filter and froze on top of it, I ALSO had a great deal of difficulty having callbacks, promised appointments with no-shows, passive aggressive phone attendants that would say I would get a phone call back and never did. I would rip them off if I could but what a waste of $5500. Don’t do it. DO NOT USE LEAF FILTER FOR METAL ROOFS On 23rd of June 2020 I signed a contract with Cliff Washburn of Leaf Filter. He said they may have to trim the metal roof to ensure water capture. On 26th of June 2020 the installers put the gutters up and installed the filters. Over the weekend it rained and the water overshot the gutters. The gutters was installed 2-2.5” too low. On Monday 29th of June I texted Cliff Washburn and Cliff said please call the main office number on the contract and they would dispatch a technician to fix any issues. Thanks for reaching out. leaf filter came out to my home,inspected my gutters and gave me a quote to install their leaf filter system. There customer service scheduler called and scheduled a date. A couple of days before the scheduled date they again called to inform me they could not make the date and needed to reschedule however the new date was some three weeks out.not really to my liking,but it is what it is. did receive a call last friday and was told they had an opening and they would be at my home on Sunday between noon and five.
