I haven’t even had my Leaf Filter guards installed yet and my husband and I are ready to cancel. Our sales representative pretty much insisted that today would be the best day to have our installation done, even though we wanted to wait until next week. Okay, we cancelled our appointments and waited during the 9-12 window that he assured us the installers would be here for. It’s now 3:00pm. No installers, no phone call, nothing. My husband called the 800 number and they said they would get back to us, which of course they didn’t. After the fourth call, they said they legally have 24 business hours to get back to us. Legally? These people are terrible. They did half of what was promised and not even right and now wont return the four calls I have made to them.
Leaf Filter is the biggest scam on earth for what they quoted me was about $44 dollars a foot and that was with a so-called 30% discount! They must think their leaf filters are gold plated or something! Anyone that pays this company the kind of money they want are fools! I could re-roof my whole roof for what they wanted for the leaf filters!
We are thrilled with the product itself, but I’d like to address the installation. When first installed the job was rushed and the cleanup disappointing. When leaks developed due to poor caulking I called the office in Lombard, Illinois. Although it took a few weeks to get someone to fix the problem, once they arrived the installer (a different person) was light years better. leaks were patched correctly and carefully. My confidence in this company was fully restored. Great customer service.

All in all, I like my leaf filter installation. But there are some problems they can not correct.In a high flow situation (I have one in particular) the water splashes over the gutter, and onto the ground. Another similar problem is in a valley, if the water flow once again is high, it jumps the gutter. Not Leaf Filter tried to eliminate this by installing gutter diverters (pieces of metal at the outside of the gutter)to stop this splash over, but then leaves build up behind them, and the water runs around and over the buildup. Worst product and horrible customer service! The filter is small pieces bent end to end, not at ALL like shown in the video. Debris collects in the joints, the ends do not butt and it is just awful! Installed in March 2019 and still trying to get our money back in October 2019 after they sent several people out to repair/redo the lousy job. The last "manager" said they have a new product which is 5 foot long and they will take down the 4 foot pieces and "use the same holes!!" WOW!! That is some kind of new math! NO THANKS!! On 8/28/2019 my husband and I hired Leaf Filter of North Jersey located at 257 Cox Street Roselle, New Jersey to replace our gutters. Their workers came out on 8/31 and completed two of five gutters. Upon further inspection, the workers told my husband they needed a taller ladder to access a section of the roof. The workers told us they would be back the next day with the appropriate ladder to finish the remaining gutters. No one ever showed up nor called us. They inked my 89 year old senile step-mom to a contract on August 8th and immediately installed the following day before the ink had a chance to dry. Not sure what happened to her 3-day right to rescind? Initial cost was $5,970 for 164 linear feet, or about $36/ft. They applied a product discount, senior rate, and military discount to bring her cost to $4,477 or “only” $27.30/foot. After I learned of the cost post-installation, I researched pricing at HD & Lowes to discover a material price of less than $3 per linear foot. Installed the gutter guard system myself and it was the easiest gutter guard I have ever installed. Fit my six inch gutters perfectly. I'm 80 years old and had no trouble doing this install myself. The instructions provided were spot on. I used the screw on method rather than the tape ,found it simple and effective. My previous gutter protection cost $2500 and was ripped off when new shingles and 6 inch gutters were installed. At $68 a box at COSTCO and installing yourself you can figure the savings. My wife was very happy about the cost and the appearance . From ground level you would not know there is a cover on my gutters. Great product.
