Overall Rating: 5 / 5 (Excellent)

LeafFilter installs its own products and exercises a high degree of quality control, which may be missing in third-party installations.

As a full-service gutter company, the LeafFilter team comes prepared to provide gutter replacement and repairs in addition to installation. Its patented gutter guards come in a variety of colors and materials and are backed by a lifetime warranty.

Since so many factors affect the pricing of gutter guards, LeafFilter is not able to provide a generalized pricing comparison. It does, however, offer free quotes which can be requested online. Consumers are advised to compare specific estimates from LeafFilter against other competitors' estimates.

Specifications - 5 / 5

LeafFilter installs micro mesh guards that seal the open tops of gutters while allowing water to pass through. The mesh is made of surgical-grade stainless steel, which is renowned for its corrosion and rust resistance. Plus, its body is made of uPVC, which is a common material in element-facing products like doors and windows.

LeafFilter gutter guards do not mount under roof shingles but instead are anchored to the gutters themselves, which preserves customer roof warranties.

Pricing and Warranty - 5 / 5

Pricing varies from home to home, as the LeafFilter team takes into account several factors including the size, style, and condition of the customer's gutters. Because of this, the company does not publish its prices online.

The company does offer free estimates which can be requested online. After completing the online form, a LeafFilter representative will contact you to provide an estimate. Since there are so many variables that affect price, consumers are advised to compare prices on house-specific estimates.

Manage the Project Not the AFTERMATH! So the existing gutters on our home were, I believe, 3” k style gutters, I only know this because of the experience I had with this company. We were intrigued by the filter offered, especially when I heard it even blocked the roofing material. So I set an appointment. I was unable to be present. So my fiancé met with the salesman. We were interested in 5” gutters and the filter. $3600 roughly for 130 linear feet of gutter and filter. We were unaware there are multiple types of 5” gutters. I now know there are two types of 5” gutters. K style ogee which is dimensionally 5” wide up top, and Facia style which is 5” tall and in my opinion much more modern... Read More

Wednesday: We will have to come back tomorrow because the salesman didn't properly annotate that you have hanging strap gutters on the main part of your roof. We need to get some different materials that we didn't bring because we didn't know you had this type of system. Thursday: No one here and it was already 1 PM. I called the company and they apologized. The workman from the day before called me and said they would be out in a half hour. They followed through. The workers started doing stuff for a few hours and then knocked on door - I assumed because they were done - I was wrong. I was informed they were stopping work. One of the work men stated "They didn't train us on how to... Read More

The only reason I don't give LeafFilter a "one" star is that I lucked out. My installer (obviously an independent handyman ) was very efficient and did a nice neat job. My problem is a "Dangerous " condition formed because of it's product. Ice sickles form along the front edge of my gutters, drip ice/water, and form ice on my driveway, porch and sidewalk. This will eventually cause foundation damage of the entire house. This is extremely a liability issue if someone falls. I've made two calls and working on my second letter. So far another "handyman" came, saw my concerns and "Took Pictures". So far, no remedy offered.

This is my 100% HONEST experience: Horrible company if they do any damage to your roof, they avoid any blame like the plague. Do not install if you have older gutters or an older roof!!!! I have never had a leak in my roof in 10 years. Yes, there were past leaks from long ago, that were fixed when the current roof was put on long ago. But nothing since. Until Leaf-Filter came along that is. While discussing the project with them, I said they may need to lower the gutters but they said a 'drip edge' would solve that problem. I said fine, you are the experts, right? They said their quote was good for a year, and I said I’ll purchase now but we can install later in the... Read More

I contacted a leaf filter rep for an estimate.A man showed up measured the length of my house and wrote an estimate for two 5" gutters.Being a 100% disabled veteran I was not able to climb a ladder and measure the width of my current gutter, mine I found out were 6"wide gutters.working fine except for slight leaking in the seams ,as older models did.Taking his word as a gutter professional I thought he knew the difference between 5 and 6 inch wide gutter. They were installed 2 weeks later, since then I have water running down my roof and over the gutter ,not in the gutter which will ruin the foundation of my house.I have contacted them numerous times about this, one man they sent out told... Thought we liked the product. Installed and worked terrific after the fall install. Then came winter, water overflow and ground damage to landscaping. Technician indicated due to the fact we live in WNY and we get snow, the system will not work properly as the mesh freezes. This was never stated BEFORE we purchased this product! If you live in an area where you get snow, this product will NOT work during the winter months. This is not stated before install or in contract, so BEWARE.

The LeafFilter does keep leaves and seeds out of the gutter, however fine seeds like birch seeds build up and plug the LeafFilter. Then water runs over the top. They also freeze over in the winter and cause ice dams to form and as the roof melts off, the water runs over the edge and freezes. In my case, the plugging and ice problems they create are worse than having to clean the gutters once or twice a year. I plan to remove the LeafFilter in the spring. Unfortunately, I am out the $1800 I paid for them. I contacted LeafFilter and was told that they did not guarantee against ice dams and basically left to deal with it at my own expense. Very disappointing.

I found this company online and saw it was well rated or as far as I could tell. I made an appointment to get an estimate. They said it would take 30 minutes. I then happened across these comments and decided I didn’t want the high pressure sales so I called to cancel. The representative told me their wouldn’t be high pressure sales just a presentation and estimate and it wouldn’t take over 30 minutes. Well that was a huge lie and my husband and I are fuming. The appointment started fine enough. Product looked decent, the estimate was $12,000. He had been at our house about 45 minutes by that time. We told him we were just getting estimates and seeing our options. He became pushier and... Read More
