Our Overall Rating: 4 / 5 (Excellent)

Eargo hearing aids help wearers process and understand speech more clearly, amplifying mid and high auditory frequencies. The company's products were designed by an ENT surgeon with more than thirty years' experience in the field with thousands of patients. Products were subsequently tested by audiologists and hearing professionals before being put into production. Since wearers generally need time to readjust to the hearing audio frequencies they may have missed for years--similar to how eyes adjust to glasses or contacts--Eargo has built a team of licensed personal hearing professionals to help each client through this process.

Eargo Product Offerings

Hearing Aid Style - 4 / 5

Eargo devices are extremely discreet. They're so invisible, you truly have to look very closely to see the tiny black end of their hearing aids. Eargo is also very attentive to comfort. Their patented Flexis, made from medical-grade silicone, help their devices rest comfortably in the ear and allows natural, ambient-lost frequencies to pass through into the eardrum.

The company's newest product is the Eargo 7, which automatically optimizes the soundscape as you move between environments. The Eargo 7 ifeatures Sound Adjust+ with Clarity Mode, a powerful capability that automatically adapts your Eargo devices to your current sound environment. The Eargo 7 is competitively priced when compared to traditional hearing aids at $2,950 for a pair of devices. It provides 16 hours of continuous use an overnight charge up to 2 days of portable power with the contactless charging case. All of Eargo's products are distinguished by excellent on-demand support from hearing professionals for as long as you use your device.

Eargo's other products include the Eargo SE, a virtually invisible CIC hearing aid that is cleared by the FDA. The company's newest product is LINK by Eargo, the company's first earbud-style OTC hearing aid with 5.3 Bluetooth. Both products benefit from rechargeable batteries and four preset sound modes to optimize your hearing experience.

Eargo kits come with left and right devices, two sizes of Flexis (regular and large), charger units, cleaning tools, and more. Every purchase comes with free lifetime support.

Every Eargo customer is assigned a licensed hearing professional for assistance after receiving the device. Customers are then able to book an introductory call and subsequent support calls as needed until they feel comfortable using the device. This will be void if the wearer modifies or damages the unit(s). Eargo also includes an uncommon loss & damage warranty which will cover devices that are lost or damaged beyond repair. In such cases, the company will send you replacements at a discounted rate.

I recently got the Eargo Neo HiFi hearing aids and had my first phone call with my assigned audiologist. Before this, I had been wearing devices which were hearing amplifiers. I am nearly deaf in my left ear and when I was younger, I knew I couldn't hear low noises (I never could hear the Ruffed Grouse wing beating noise, even in my 30's) but as I got older, I also lost a lot of high frequency hearing. But I didn't want to spend a fortune on hearing aids and resisted that, so I got amplifiers instead. My biggest issue was my husband's voice--I could hear when he was talking but couldn't always make out the words. Enter Eargo. I finally broke down and got them. I'm so grateful and loved... Two weeks into my new hearing experience and it is really nice when talking with anyone I don’t ask them to repeat what they have said. My interaction with the everyone at Eargo has been nothing short of great and my hearing aids have delivered as promised.

Overall, a terrible product. When they work, they work well. But they break down constantly. Customer service was fine but once my warranty was over - after the fifth aid went dead within one year, I was in for a few hundred to replace. Would never buy again. There has got to be a better product out there. I followed all of the directions - cleaned them daily, replaced the "O" rings, discharged them. No matter. Average lifespan was three to four months.

Thank you for letting us know about this frustrating experience with our hearing aids. What you're experiencing is not common with our hearing aids and according to your case history, there may be some additional actions we can take with you. I'm going to have someone in our Client Care team reach out and discuss this with you. We'll do our best to have this resolved to your satisfaction.

Is "one unit" equal to one or two hearing aids?? Can you please send a price list of your 3 main types of hearing aids? And please be sure to indicate if the prices are for one aid or for a pair. Thank you! Unfortunately for both of us, I am another Laura C . . . but my email address should distinguish me even in the comments . . . . because that uses my maiden name, which doesn't begin w. "C" !! Thanks for these answers, in advance!! Laura PS I have had no interaction yet, and so, I have no basis for offering a rating!

Hi Laura. Eargo hearing aids are purchased in pairs and include the charger. Our hearing aids are Class 1 FDA cleared devices. Pricing includes BOTH hearing aids, the charger, cleaning and maintenance supplies, a 1 or 2 year warranty, and remote lifetime care from a licensed hearing professional. Pricing for a total system ranges from $2,950 for our premium Neo HiFi model, $2,350 for Neo, and $1,850 for the Max. This is 40-50% less than you’d pay at a medical office. To see if an Eargo device is right for you, call us at 800-481-1302 and let us help. You can also visit us at https://eargo.com/products-hearing-aids. The eargo devices are excellent. It’s a must that when you receive them that you speak to one of the hearing specialist to program them. One thing I found is not all the audiologist are totally up on how to fix a problem. So, I recommend that if your problem isn’t solved to request a more experienced and expert in trouble shooting. I did have to call several times and I finally hit upon the right person who solved my problem within minutes. The devices are comfortable, and once programmed properly work great!!!!!

When I heard that Federal Employees could receive Eargos at no cost I jumped all over it. It was true, they did not cost me a cent. My Federal Employee Blue Cross Insurance fully covered the cost. I really wanted the devices to work. I spent three weeks after receiving them trying everything to make them work for me. I experienced two problems that I was ultimately unable to resolve. The first problem was uncontrollable itching in my ear canals after the devices had been in for as little as one hour. The problem was so bad that I was compelled to remove them when the itching became intolerable. I tried all of the various tips along with some aloe in the ear canals. The itching was a... Read More

Head of Sales Development/Audiologist of Eargo Hearing Aids
Dear Richard. I'm terribly sorry you had this experience. As a 31 year veteran of audiology and the hearing aid industry, problems like yours can happen. It definitely sounds as though you worked hard to make Eargo hearing aids fit your needs, but sadly they simply were not for you. For different people the ear canal can be dry or or very "waxy". Also, the TMJ is right under the ear canal and when yawning or eating, some people can experience movement of any hearing aid thus resulting in feedback. As far as your insurance benefit, Eargo will refund the money with your insurance company and work to have your benefit reinstated quickly. Again, thank you for giving Eargo a try and we wish you good luck finding a hearing aid solution that works for you.

I love my hearing aids. I love how you can adjust them through your smart phone and they are so comfortable. I had worn behind the ear aids before and wanted something that went directly in the ear and these are exactly what I hoped they would be. I highly recommend these.
