Overall Rating: 3.4 / 5 (Very good)

Unitron is a reputable, old-established manufacturer of hearing aids. The company is a solid manufacturer of hearing aids whose products are on par with much of the contemporary hearing aid industry. Its product line is not as extensive as some of its competitors, but its products have nearly all of the desirable features of contemporary hearing aids. Since the company does not sell direct to consumers but markets its products through hearing professionals, there isn't a whole lot of information available about its pricing and warranties. Consumers interested in the brand should discuss these and other issues with their hearing professional.

Unitron Product Offerings

Hearing Aid Style - 2.9 / 5

Unitron is offers the most common types of hearing aids, BTE, ITE, and RIC models. It claims that its RIC model is the smallest in the world. Some of the company's hearing aids are rechargeable, which frees customers from having to replace batteries. Unitron does not manufacture the more exotic and less common hearing aids, but its offerings appear aimed squarely at the middle of the market segment. They deliver a solid array of mid-range features.

Customer Experience - 3.5 / 5

Unitron's website affirms that its products come with a warranty, but the portion of the site that appeared to lead to the warranty terms is not functional. Consequently, we were unable to find any information regarding the length and terms of the company's product warranty

Unitron Reputation

Reputation - 4.3 / 5

Very little information about Unitron's reputation is available online. Individual offices of the company have an A+ rating from the BBB, but no consumer comments. The company has no presence on Trustpilot. However, the firm has been in business for over 54 years and does not appear to have been involved in any consumer litigation or regulatory actions. Bearing in mind the relative thinness of reputational data, the company's reputation should be considered as good.

I purchased the Unitron rechargeable aids last summer. After a few weeks, the right side began to fail after 8 or 9 hours of use, sometimes less. My wonderful audiologist arranged with Unitron to replace the door and battery. Again, everything fine for a couple of weeks, then the right side started to fail again. This time the company replaced the doors, wires, batteries and charger. The next day, the left side started to fail about every other day, lasting no longer than 11 or 12 hours max. I haven’t contacted my audiologist yet, but I’m very frustrated that $5000 doesn’t buy a reliable product. Am considering just using regular batteries and skipping the irritation.

I am on my third set of unitons. Frankly the best performing for me where my previous Moxi 20s which had no Bluetooth features. Seems the more features added above and beyond hearing processing abilities are of limited value for most users and add to cost and potential malfunctions. Dito with the rechargeable battery feature which falls into the that catagory. When my current unions start giving trouble I am seriously considering repairing my old aids and keep the newest aids as spares. Do not misinterprete what I am saying as a negative review of Unitron far from it these have been overall a fine product and I recommend the brand with little reservations.

At the moment, I can only say that the Unitron Moxi Series is really horrible. It's been one thing after another, rechargeable battery failures, charger failures, the aid itself failure. I've been having problems from the get go Dec. 16th. It is now Feb. 8th and with a new aid, new batteries and new charger, one of the two aids still is failing on me! Fortunately, the Group that I've purchased this from has been working we me concerning failures and problems. I believe the problem is that Unitron put out a product that wasn't fully tested and a lot of others are experiencing glitches. This has delayed my departure from my home state for months. I am on my way to complain AGAIN and see what... Read More
