Liberty Home Guard has higher allowance amounts than the average home warranty company and sources their replacement units at a wholesale rate. What's more, it is Liberty's policy to always provide customers with the option to have an item replaced, even if it is repairable. LHG offers customers three primary types of coverage plans: Appliance Guard, Systems Guard, and Total Home Guard. They will also provide completely customizable coverage upon request. With an in-house underwriting team, the company can add or subtract coverage items to tailor the policy to cover their customers’ specific wants and needs. For example, if you don’t have a microwave in the home, or you have two refrigerators, they can make all the necessary changes to get you the coverage you require.

Add-ons include items such as pools and spas, sump pumps, central vacuums, well pumps, septic system pumping, stand-alone freezers, re-keying services, gutter cleaning services, and secondary refrigerators.

Some items may have different cost caps for repairs done to them or for full replacements. Overall, Liberty Home Guard's plans are solid, covering a wide variety of home systems and appliances.

Liberty Home Guard sells month-to-month, annual, and multi-year home warranty policies. Plans start at less than $1 per day—and depending on the current promotion, costs can be even lower. Liberty Home Guard’s service call fees range anywhere from $60 to $125, depending on the type of plan. The company offers discounts for its multi-year policies, providing the greatest value to consumers. Consumers interested in getting a sample quote or applying for a policy can do so on the company's website. Liberty Home Guard does not require consumers to have a home inspection in order to finalize contracts.

Contracts canceled within the first 30-days of the policy are eligible for a full refund. Should a consumer require optional add-ons, LHG will send the consumer a customized contract that includes optional add-on language, and the consumer has 30 days to review that language at no cost as well. In other words, all customers are entitled to a full money-back guarantee during that 30-day period.

Cancellation Policy

Liberty Home Guard customers may cancel their warranty policy at any time.

If canceled between day 31 and day 60 of the policy, the company will refund the full Agreement Cost, minus a $50 cancellation fee and the cost of any claims paid.

If canceled after the first 30 days from the effective date of the policy, the company will refund a prorated refund of the Agreement Cost based on the number of months remaining on the term of the agreement, minus the same cancellation fee of $50 and the cost of any claims paid.

Customers must wait 30 days after enrolling before submitting support claims. However, Liberty Home Guard will project management any issue for its customers, even on day one of enrollment. Project management entitles users to Liberty Home Guard's wholesale discounts on parts, appliances, and labor, and it enables users to have Liberty source their in-network technicians to perform repairs. Also, if a customer has an existing policy with coverage expiring in less than 30 days from the purchase date, Liberty Home Guard will expedite the start date of coverage to overlap with prior coverage.

All service provided by said contractors has a 60-day workmanship guarantee. If the same malfunction happens within that timeframe, customers can file a claim in order to repair or replace the damaged item.

Claims may be filed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I had a positive experience when getting my microwave replaced. Liberty did not even have to send a technician out, they just ordered a new microwave to my home which arrived 2 days after I submitted the claim. They also helped find a contractor to install the unit. I only paid my $80 deductible and Liberty Handled the rest.

Chris was really helpful with my last two claims. I had both my heating stop working and an electrical issue. He helped me save on the deductible because even though we created two claims just in case, when the heating technician arrived, he was able to determine that both issues were related and primarily an electrical issue. The very next day an electrician arrived and fixed root cause and both my heating and lighting in my home are now good to go!

As a company my consistent experience has been that Liberty Home Guard goes above and beyond to help its customers. I only had an appliance guard plan because my HVAC system was brand new and still under manufacturer’s warranty. I then had an issue with that same HVAC system and was getting the run around from the manufacturer. I appealed to Liberty for help and they jumped in no issue. They had their experts talk to the manufacturer and eventually got the manufacturer to fully pay for repairs. If they went this far to help me with something that is not covered, I’m sure they’ll do right when I have my first real claim with them.

My personal experience over the past two years has been great and my impression of them is highly positive. Their technicians, every time I’ve had one come to my home, seem to be well-trained, polite, and considerate. I’ve recommend them to a bunch of my friends and a few signed up. It’s nice that they also gave me credit for the referrals.

Liberty Home Guard has PREDATORY and FRAUDULENT business practices. I purchased a 3-year membership on two homes in May 2021 for $3200, and things were fine until I needed an AC replaced. They dragged their feet for months, charged me $3100, ordered the wrong equipment in December 2021, fired the AC tech, and I had to return the equipment. I have been trying for months to cancel my membership and get a refund AND get the money back on the returned equipment, but they won't return my MANY calls or emails. I have been enrolled with Liberty for three years now and haven’t had a single issue with them completing my claims. Of my nine claims in total, four were replacements and five were repairs, all of them I had the first visit with a contractor scheduled within the first 24 hours after the initial claim was filed.
