I have had nothing but positive communication with Select Home Warranty. Every person I have spoken to has been not only very polite but also very knowledgeable and polite. I have already recommended them to many friends and family.
We reached out on several occasions to utilize the policy we paid for. There were repeated delays. The company was never able to provide a technician to go out to our property. We were required to provide our own, which we did. When we contacted them with the information that the professional we paid to go out to review the appliances and the furnace and the HVAC system, we were asked for photographs, which we provided multiple times. We were then told that no one could help us because suddenly the appliances that this company was happy to take our money to insure were no longer covered. I had them for a year and they were a MESS! They didn't have any contractors in Lake Havasu and I wasted a years contract for nothing. Absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I'm with a new company now that operates like it should and I'm grateful! AVOID SHW AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
I had this insurance for over a year, and when my dishwasher that came in the trailer house I bought brand new in 1984 (I still live in this trailer house ) the dishwasher quit working right. (they don't make parts for it anymore) so they said they would only give me $120. 00 for the dishwasher. but I could only get the $125.00 when I proved that I bought a new dishwasher and had it installed. had to take a picture of it installed and also a copy showing I paid for the dishwasher. and I wait and no check 2 months go by still not check of course I was paying $35. 00 a month for this insurance. For the 2nd time SHW has denined our claim first to replace the Water Heater because of something that the contract stated about the Water Heater. So we ended up having to replace it at our Expense, then yesterday our Refrigerator broke and the repaiman said that it would cost $2,100 to replace all the parts that run the coolent and the pump. But once again becasue of the policy it doen't cover my refrigerator because of the manafactures installtion the contract once again doesn't cover and How am I suppose to know that? So now once again we have to buy a new Refrigerator because this company finds anyway in not paying for a replacement which we already ordered an new Refrigerator and NO... Read More
I want to cancel my Select Home Warranty. Who do I contact to make this happen? Do I need to send a letter or what? This has been the worst experience from any Home Warranty Company I have ever dealt with. You should be ashamed to call yourselves a real company. I would give you zero stars if that was possible. My policy is for extended years so I want to get my prorated return as soon as possible.
Claim was denied. because a hot water system was rusty! A system would have to be brand new to have even a little to no rust. Then it would be covered by the manufacturer, & I wouldn't need CHW.
watch out for the fine prints! they do not cover a/c leaks. That is fine but if the leak can not be repaired, then now you will have to pay for the part replacement. In my case, it is the evaporator and the technician's report explained that it can not repaired but because it was a leak, I am on my own.. no home warranty. I recorded the whole conversation and it is impressive the lack of care for the customer. They stuck on the leak part of it and now I am not covered for this a/c issue. DO NOT BUY THIS WARRANTY.... I should upload the conversation so new customer can experience what coming their way if they get this company warranty
This is a horrible company, I truly don’t understand how they have a five star status , there customer service is horrible there service is not how the sale person pitches to you to buy, yes you can file a claim and get someone sent to your home for repair, it’s what happens through the process , you appliances will not be fixed according to them , trust me you will have to come more out of your pocket cause they will only allow a small fee for the repair to go toward you actually having to pay for the repair yourself , and god forbid you try an cancel they put you through the ringer . “For heating or cooling equipment (hvac), the repair/replacement allowance is $3000. For appliances, plumbing and electrical (non-heating or cooling) the repair/replacement allowance is $500. For additional coverage options the repair/replacement allowance is $400”
