Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

The agent that answered the phone was VERY courteous and was able to file a claim for me very efficiently. She was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I have been using Select Home Warrantee several years with all of my properties and I am very satisfied with their service.

I submitted a claim to get my ceiling fan repaired on 9-30-19, and the rep said it would not be cost effective for a tech to go out and repair it. So they were supposed to send me a claim resolution to cover the replacement cost. I waited, and after a week, I still hadn't received anything, so I had to follow up with SHW twice . They didn't send me a claim resolution email until 10-16-19! If I hadn't been persistently hounding them, then my claim would have stayed lost in the cracks of their system. What's worse is that once I finally received my claim 'resolution', they only covered $45 to replace my ceiling fan. Ceiling fans are now well over $200, plus they would not be covering... I had a heat issue that needed tweaking to get it back running. It was chilly and I was hoping for fast service. I notified them and contact them multiple days in a row to speed things up. It works and I had a total week of waiting.

Pay your attention to the exclusion section of the policy! Look at the section 9.1.2 below, there is no way anyone buying their home can have the evidence of the last 3 years of maintenance records of all appliances and they can refuse to cover your damage even if you buy their policy!! 9.1.2. Last time I checked my water heating unit I noticed the knob was jammed and would not get hot enough. I was given a priority service call and the knob was replaced.

Next to the sink the pipe going through to the fridge and washing machine sprung a small leak. Select gave me pointers to temporarily shut it off until they got to me. They came in 10 days and replaced the tubing- professional staff.
