Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Our experience with Select Home Warranty: this posting is not from a spirit of revenge but from concern that others may contract with Select Home Warranty and get extremely poor service. On July 21 we called SHW to report our gas water heater was leaking water. They sent out a plumber who said that we had the temperature set too high. That was all that was wrong with it. It continued to leak so we called SHW who told us to call the plumber and ask him to come back. We tried, no answer. SHW tried to contact them, no answer. Finally, after several calls to SHW, they sent out another company’s plumber, who was not a plumber, but an electrician. He wrote that the pressure switch valve... Read More

This company is set up be be the greatest rip off artist of all time. You structure your company to avoid paying out against claims and torture your clients with convoluted processes to back this up. If there was a worse rating than terrible, I would give it.

I would give less than 0 rating if possible. This is my 2nd home I owned in over 18 years but the first time w/ select home warranty. They are horrible. Automated line tells you hold time is 2 mins and you hold for over 20 mins and then hung up on and had to call back and wait another 20 mins for someone to pick up the call. I let them know my call was being recorded because of the number of times I had to go back and forth on the claim. I felt like I was being scammed regarding the coverage of my unit. They referred me to section 9.1.2 of the policy agreement and told me they would only cover $150 and I would have to pay it out of pocket and submit a copy of the invoice to them for... Read More

Horrible company that should not even claim to be a home warranty company. They can’t send anyone out when requested for over a week until you get one, prorate appliances for reimbursement, and will ask you to get your own contractor to determine if it can be a claim by them...seriously DO NOT waste your $, time, and patience with them.
