Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Select Home Warranty is the worst warranty company I have had. The adds don’t tell all the loop holes they have to get out of covering any claims. They promise to have contractors in our area but when submitting claim they just say to find my own contractor to service equipment and offer a small amount of coverage. I would rate them negative -10. Very bad and sales force are deceptive

After trying finaly getting to the pricing on the website, its unclear what exactly is covered, i looked at the terms, to read further, half of the stuff that says its covered, is not covering normal home problems. for example look at septic tank, or garage door under terms. While im doing research on reviews, i received a phone call within 8 min of looking at pricing, i ask the guy why the first 3 pages of reviews are all horrible, and we argue for a min, very good customer service, then he goes on to say he has other people waiting on hold trying to buy a policy. I had to ask 3 times to put me on a do not call back list, before he rudely hung up on me, i bet i will be getting... Read More

This is a follow-up to my review on 11/6/21. Bottom line is that if you want to cancel, you have to literally fight to get your account truly cancelled. My husband and I tried to cancel our policy from 11/4-11/19. We requested multiple times to cancel, received multiple responses that the request has been sent. But each time I call back to see where my refund is, they say my account is still active. (Why??) We spoke to 5-10 reps asking to be canceled 5-10 times. Each time, they ask "Why are you cancelling? I would like to put a -5 stars but this system will not allow me to do that. I had other Home Warranty Companies in the past. But this one Select Home Warranty is one of the worse companies to be involved. There warranty sucks BIG time. We had a water leak coming from our water heater and they denied our claim because they said they don’t do that but there policy rules. DON’T waste your time or money with them at all.

It's been 5 weeks since I've renewed my policy for a second year, and I still haven't received my policy documents. I have spoken with Select Customer Service at least 5 times - including to a supervisor - without success. I would not recommend purchasing from Select.

Select Home warranty company cheated me and tricked me into buying 5 years plan prepaid and even a single claim they did not honor.. When i cancled i lost more than thousands of dollars and received only 100 or so dollars.. i would never go with these folks

We bought a 3-year policy for $1484. After 30 days, we opened a claim that was denied. It was a simple case of a shower handle coming off of the shower stem. For something this small and inexpensive, it should be covered. Why would I buy a policy that doesn't cover simple, inexpensive item as this? Furthermore, they said that we had to pay more to cover this type of repair... Another issue was that for the first 30 days, there was a freeze on the account, which meant that we could not use the policy. After the first 30-day freeze, plus 15 more days, they charge me $75 when I tried to cancel. But from the point of view of a consumer, the first 30 days of the contract should be day 31-60,... This is literally the worst company ever. I paid for a 3 year policy and cannot wait until it's done. I got the runaround on repairs for my refrigerator just to get told they wont cover repairs and instead were cashing me out for $275. My fridge is not old and in great condition, other than the fan noise. Avoid this company and go to literally anyplace else.
