Refused every claim. Last straw was an AC unit that outlived its lifespan by 5 years and died due to normal wear and tear - as diagnosed by two engineers at personal cost. A replacement should be provided in line with the contract but the claim was refused with no basis.
There is no one to call and speak about it. All decisions are made in the 'Back Office' and you're left to deal with an offshore team that deflects calls and has no direct contact with the 'Back Office'.
Avoid at all costs. They will offer you the policy at a great rate but they can do so but their payout is zero! Good luck
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS THE WORST I EVER HAD SINCE I HAD WARRANTY I HAD AMERICAN HOME-SHIELD THAT COMPANY HELP ME WITH ALL MY NEEDS WITH NO PROBLEMS LIKE THEY SAY YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET THIS COMPANY IS A LOT CHEAPER BUT WHEN IT COMES FOR CLAIMS THE ARE CHEAP TOO THEY WANT TO GIVE YOU PENIES FOR YOU APPLIANCES REPLACEMENT WITH OUT EVEN SENDING A TECH TO FIX YOUR STAFF PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY THIS COMPANY IS BAD
This company is horrible to deal with. After purchasing Platinum coverage, my breaker went out. I live in Arizona. The temperatures are 111 during the day. Select took 4 days to give me an answer on the repair. Had no Air Conditioning and repeated told them I had small children and animals. They denied it because my breaker box was on the OUTSIDE of my home not in my living space. Horrible company!
I've been a Select Home Warranty client for almost for years and wanted to do a "sanity check" before renewing.
I looked at several others, both "big boy competition to Select" before making my choice. It was a no brainer. I not only stayed with Select but, with (sales agent) Zachary's help. contracted for a multi-year policy and discount. GREAT!
Totally fraudulent and misleading representations on coverage and hides under the fine print to deny or pay you pennies on a dollar to replace damaged appliances. Total rip. Canceled after 5 days based on the misrepresentations and still charged a $75 cancellation fee. TOTAL RIPOFF!!
Do not buy this warranty. They will not pay anything. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS!!! Guarantee you will be sorry
BEWARE OF SELECT HOME WARRANTY!! Terrible company. Awful experience. Long wait times. Took a week to review/process my claim for A/C motor going out, and then only covered a fraction of the cost. Had to jump through many hoops while roasting inside my house with no A/C in the middle of the summer. I wouldn't even consider them a home warranty company. Avoid the headache and go with another company...trust me!!
I want to share I very terrible expense. Two months ago one of my friends recommends I should my homewarry. I went to Google search found this company has very good feedback. I called the company would like to buy a home warry for my house appliance. I talked to some agents. They said I only pay for the first visit of a $60 deductible. The rest of the company will take care. If the appliance is broken, we will take care of it and replacement to a new one or fix it. You don't need to pay any penny out of the pocket. This company is a sham. They do not cover what they advertise. I paid the $75 deposit to have a plumber assess and repair the garbage disposal. When he said that it needed to be replaced, Select Home Warranty decided that they wouldn't cover the cost of replacement and repairs and would offer me a settlement of $75. I've never had a home warranty company decide they were not going to pay for a repair they advertise as handling. Their customer service is trash and they lie. I was told there was no cancellation fee and they charged me one to cancel my service. Absolutely horrible. they do not cover practically anything, and if you have one word wrong in the diagnosis they won't cover it. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WARRANTY. THEY ARE COMPLETE TRASH OF A SERVICE!
THEY SHOULD BE LABELED AS A SCAM.
