Overall Rating: 4.9 / 5 (Excellent)

Select Home Warranty’s lack of a term maximum is very attractive, especially when considering their comparatively generous appliance and system limits.

They do have a waiting period for service and require maintenance records, which can be off-putting to some customers. Select is an excellent choice for customers who value savings and flexibility.

When the second refrigerator stopped working the stored material was shifted to the first one. I found it out when I tried to get something to eat and discovered that the second refrigerator was switched off. Immediately I called up claims to register my complaint. In ten minutes the repair company called back and fixed the technician timing. The next day was used by the technician to analyse and fix the fault. Before the day ended my 2nd refrigerator was working fine.

Gar-bags had lined up as the Garbage disposal was not working. I suddenly remembered that the garbage disposal was covered in my home warranty contract that I had signed about 8-10 months ago. A call to the claims was all that was required. Next morning my garbage disposal was operational. That is the empowerment the home warranty grants you.

Be aware of a scam. They refused to honor their agreements. Do not use this company they will not provide assistance. They will delay on unnecessary technicalities such as providing a certain style of maintenance records, until you give up. Whatever your certified maintenance contractor provides is never sufficient. This is a scam to deny the claim. Only a lawsuit could help with them. Be prepared. Shame that we are humiliated by such con artists.

The cooling in the house was not very effective. When I checked my home warranty contract I found that the cooling was very much a part of the contract. I placed a claim on record and the technician arrived the next day. He changed some temperature settings and adjusted the air flow. I felt the temperature dropping fast enough. I was really impressed with the technician's knowledge and understanding of the cooling system. This home warranty company has an excellent workforce associated with it.

I have three houses in different parts of the Virginia state and I have all three of them covered by the platinum home warranty insurance. The service providers and technicians may differ according to the location but the level of service and skill set is similar. This plan is the best suited for multiple location coverage.

The technician fee of $45 is peanuts compared to the expertise and skill level deployed in the repair of the equipment. I believe it is real value for your money as an outside repair in the market would not be less than $500. One should not think twice before taking this home warranty contract.

I have been using the water heater quite sparingly but it developed a snag lately. I checked the coverage in the home warranty contract and then called the claims department. Two hours later I got a call from the repair company. They suggested a good technician two days later as he was out of station. I was in no hurry as the situation was manageable in the summer months. With the right technician coming in after 2 days the problem was resolved in 20 minutes. Sometimes patience really pays!

After the dishwasher, it was the turn of my cooktop to blow the whistle. All that, the repair company technician found was choking of the pipes due to deposits. He did some cleaning and the cooktop started working perfectly. The cost of repair was mainly the technician fee of US$60. I have already referred the home warranty to my friends and colleagues.

When I bought my second house in Oklahoma, little did I realise that I will find the same home warranty company as the one in Texas. Since I had already experienced the services, it hardly took me any time to make the addition. From the next year I will have both the insurance covers clubbed and take some discount.

We were used to paying hefty amounts as repair charges for the house breakdowns. The shop owners realised our desperate situation and fleeced us for money. All this changed when we took this warranty. Once the annual premium is paid all we have to pay is $60 for the technician and the cost of the replaced parts. It is a much more acceptable now.
