Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Select Home Warranty Well where do I start. This is now my second home insurance policy. The first one was with American home Shield. Select home warranty is the second one. I have to say out of the two Select Home Warranty is the worse. They take forever to process a claim and they're grossly understaffed. My first complaint is with the 24 hour service. Select Home Warranty is not a 24 hour service company. You can place a claim in 24 hours but it will not get processed after normal business hours or over the weekend. I been with Select Home Warranty for about a year and had been satisfied up until today. I submitted a claim for my AC unit not cooling. I never received an email confirmation so I had to call them several times for them to finally find an AC Company in my area. The Company Technician was very very unprofessional, he arrived at my house hours after the time that he said he was coming, he also arrived with no refrigerant to put in the AC unit. He said he would come back the next day but instead of coming back he called to say if I wanted some refrigerant it would cost me $300 I'm thinking really. This should be negative starts, but 1/2 star was the lowest option. I purchased a home in Dec 2014 and it came with a warranty from Select Home Warranty. In the first year, I had AC, furnace and dishwasher break. The AC repair took 9 weeks because of multiple miscommunications on Select's part, but eventually got done. The furnace was replaced and dishwasher repaired with no issues. In June 2016 i purchased a townhouse for my parents and chose to purchase a home warranty becausee of the age of appliances. Now I know why there is such a big disparity between this company's business rating, and their customer satisfaction rating (which is less than one star!) Very disappointed with this company. The Select Home Warranty contract isn't worth the paper it's written on. So glad I didn't buy into the "3 year contract" that they offered when I first signed up. We have a combo wall oven/microwave oven. The microwave stopped working. Filed a claim, and was informed that SHW would only pay $95 towards a repair/replacement, even though the entire combo wall unit will have to be replaced. I had nothing but awful experience with the company, there contractors are unqualified, customer care is simply terrible, and service is nothing but a run around.Dont recomend this company to any one!!!

This is by far the worst warranty out there. I have submitted three claims and at no point in time have they fixed anything. At one point I had an emergency fix they told me to call a local plumber and submit the bill to them. Did that and they did not pay the entire amount for the plumber after they said they would. My dishwasher has been broken since December last year. Just received a check for a third of the cost to purchase a new one. They refused to repair it because they said it would cost too much. There is no where you can buy a Maytag dishwasher for $175. This is the worst home warranty ever please don't purchase find another one. The second claim was my air conditioner. There... Read More

I WAS APPALLED WHEN SELECT HOME WARRANTY CHARGED A LABOR FEE ($150.00) ON TOP OF THE SERVICE FEE ($60.00) for INSTALLING (replacing the computer board) on my dishwasher. Paid 3 years advance. They never call back, never email back. Wait to get through on phone is horrendously long. When they tell you the supervisor Jamal will call back, he never does. I wish I had read all the bad reviews first. There are good warranty companies, this is not one. They don't pay, they don't reimburse. They should be shut down!
