SHW charge people a monthly premium or like me, sucker them with a "discount" to pay in advance for three years and then don't pay for repairs if they determine it costs too much compared to the depreciated worth of the appliance. This was not disclosed before I purchased the warranty and when I asked for a copy of the contract they told me not until the policy goes into effect in 30 days. They advertise that they will replace it if they can't fix it but that is not true. My clothes washer broke the end of January and I put in a claim. Took a week for the tech to come out to look at the washer. He did some kind of adjustment and said to call him if the fix did not work. It... Read More
VERY SHADY BUSINESS COMPANY!
BEWARE!!!
We have 2 claims, which i can see them not paying 1 of them unfourtuantlly, but tried to tell me on the 2nd claim When the house was built they put in the electrical wrong? WTF, Electricians evaluation was the house was built over 40 yrs ago.
This company is completely bogus and fradulent. They only look for ways NOT to pay any claims. Don't buy ANYTHING from this company!!
Worst company ever. Please please please any other home warranty company is better than Select home warranty. If I could give them a minus 0 I would, this is how bad I know they are. First of all, and I will try to summarize they will make you per item, it doesn't matter if it is within the same category, appliances, electric, plumbing, etc. This is how they get you, if it's the clothes dryer and the clothes washer just an example they will charge you $75 each. They partner with National Service Allience which is also horrible. Honestly I wish I could have left a 0 rating. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. Please save your $$ and use someone else. We purchased our home in Oct. Like most homes it was used and we purchased the Home Warranty to cover if anything broke. Our HVAC system went out 3 weeks ago. After trying to get them to send someone out for weeks I called a company myself. They came out and deemed that the unit should be replaced as the part for it was no longer available and it won't work without it and could be a safety issue. I purchased the 5-year warranty plan for several of my rental properties and found their service was terrible. They don't have many technicians who are willing to work with them. So they will ask you to find a technician yourself. After I paid the technician according to their instructions, it's very difficult to get reimbursed. Every time I call, they would say check will be send out in two weeks. After 3-4 weeks, I call them again, they would say check would be sent out in two weeks .... Eventually I would get the check after about 6 months and spend much time on the phone with them. I had a fridge stopped working. They determined it's not worth repairing it.
