Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Very bad system. To get authorization for work to be done / reimbursed, the contractor has to contact their claims department before 6pm EST. I live in CA, so if a contractor comes in after 3 pm PST, there will be no authorization given on the same day. And you will be left wondering if the repair is going to be taken care of. You will have to submit a claim, and mayhap get an answer within 24 hours. If you are lucky. They should warn all PST customers to get their contractors in before noon PST if you want a more seamless process of getting repairs done / authorized, etc.

BEWARE - SELECT HOME WARRANTY IS A SCAM! They rejected our claim due to rust and dirt on the outside of the appliance even though the rust/dirt is just cosmetic and has nothing to do with the reason why the appliance is broken. They said that ANY visible sign of dirt/dust/rust on the outside allows them to AUTOMATICALLY REJECT the claim regardless of the reason it's broken. Unless you wipe your appliances clean on an hourly basis, all appliances will inevitably accumulate some dirt/dust/rust, which apparently gives them the ability to reject any claim they want. I'm pretty sure that's the exact definition of a scam.

Escrow overpaid the premium due to Select. After pointing this out to your rep Ben Thomas he refunded the overpayment in a timely manner. Ben was professional and polite during the entire transaction.
