Overall Rating: 2.5 / 5 (Average)

Super is a subscription-based home repair and maintenance service. The company offers three plans starting at $64 per month. All plans include both appliances and systems. Customers have the option of customizing any plan to cover a wide range of home features, including pools and spas, well pumps, and duplicate appliances.

Super is one of the more expensive services out there and its plan pricing and coverage limit structure is among the most complicated we've seen. For example, the price of any plan you choose will increase if you have a larger home because rates are established according to the area of your home. Even a careful reading of the company's sample contract leaves many questions unanswered. But the company doesn't limit the number of claims that you can make and some system coverage may be unlimited, depending on the plan you choose.

In addition, by adding the It's Covered option to your plan, some appliance and system parts that other home warranty companies exclude are included.

Coverage Options - 4 / 5

Super offers three home warranty packages: the Security, Signature and Lux plans. The more you are willing to pay for a plan, the more appliances and systems are covered.

Super helps and encourages customers to perform routine maintenance on their homes. Once you are an established customer, Super will send you updates when normal maintenance tasks should be performed throughout your home. Subscribers have the option of engaging one of Super's contractors to perform the work, with deductibles ranging from $75 to $149.

Super also protects against unknown pre-existing conditions, which are often excluded from most home warranty contracts.

Contract & Price - 4.5 / 5

The minimum annual premium with Super is $449 annually. That price applies to homes under 1200 square feet in area and located in Arizona. Premiums for larger homes are higher, as they are for homes located in more expensive parts of the country.

Other contract features are on par with competitive home warranties. You are not required to sign up for a full year of coverage, but if you sign an annual contract, you'll receive a discount off the monthly price. Super coverage for existing homes that are not on the market begins 15 days after you make your first payment. That's a somewhat shorter waiting period than some competitive plans offer. Super has a pretty standard cancellation clause. You can cancel within 30 days and receive a full refund, minus the cost of any repairs the company performed during the covered period. However, the company also charges a $50 cancellation fee.

Sample Contract

Super provides a sample contract for potential customers on its website: Super Sample Contract

Cancellation Policy

Agreement can be cancelled by you within thirty (30) days of the Plan Effective Date, and a full refund will be made. You may cancel this Agreement more than thirty (30) days after the Agreement effective date, and you shall be entitled to refund of the pro-rata Agreement charge less claims paid, any unpaid service fees, and a $50 administrative fee. Cancellation of this plan must be in writing.

Claims Processing - 3.8 / 5

Super makes it easy to submit claims by offering online, mobile, email, and telephone contact methods. Customers can submit an unlimited number of claims during a covered period, however the company places a cap on the dollar value of claims you can submit in a year. Coverage limits increase as you step up to Super's more expensive plans. Under no circumstances will the company be responsible for more than $30,000 in repairs, no matter which plan or upgrades you choose.

Super is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has an excellent A+ rating. The lack of client feedback on the site may be interpreted as evidence of customer satisfaction with their product, or alternatively, attributed to their limited, six region coverage area. Nonetheless, the company seems to enjoy a positive reputation, as evidenced by their #TestimonialTuesday posts on Twitter.

Do Not sign up with Super Home Warranty!!! They are a very Dishonest Company! The sales Rep lied about their Coverage My 2 year water heater went out 6 days ago. I have had no hot water. My contract states they will cover up to $1500 for a new water heater. SHW is now, saying my out of pocket cost would be $900.00 because I dont have the upgraded plan , for hook ups, haul away of the heater, or modifications. If I upgraded my plan ,it would be covered But, I would have to wait another 30 days , then they would say its a preexisting . It took me 5 phone calls .I was hung up on twice. It took 2 hours for a Case Manager to call me back, to only tell me that my out if pocket was... Read More

I am say'n "bait & switch"... some how my original home warranty became absorbed by (not so) super. Their web site is horrible and the phone system is even worse. Takes way too many calls and eMails to get anyone to respond and when they do, they don't have the authority to make a decision... but they sure want you to click on "pay" real easy. I have a plumbing issue that has been going on for a month now and "we" still don't have a resolution. The plumbing company they called out, wants to replace a part with a much less expensive piece. Which will not work for me, let alone the crazy "modification" charges required to put in a lesser quality part. I was steered to the original... Read More

My old home warranty company when another direction and somehow transferred my account to Super. When tried to contact Super initially, was informed that they did not cover may area, then when I called said that they would, but services seemed to be very sketchy. Very poor, uncoordinated services. Don't answer phones and internet information was sparse. Don't cover what they say they would on the contract...always looking for exceptions and reasons why not to cover. They contracted with dubiously qualified providers. Took too long to hear back about approval for repairs (over a week), requiring me to call and when I did, encountered a rude representative. My renewal was fortunately... Read More

I have been a Super Home Warranty customer since 2019. The first couple of years this company was excellent at customer service. Between 2022 and 2023, the customer service and their service providers are terrible. There are long hold times, and you can't speak to anyone directly in a timely manner. They don't also return calls nor emails. As one example, I hired an independent contractor to maintenance our HVAC since it wasn't working properly. They confirmed we needed a fan motor. I filed a claim with Super and paid a co-pay for the HVAC service. Super's service provider inspected it and said there was nothing wrong. AC unit was still not working properly. I then submitted... We've had Super for 4 months and recently submitted a claim for a faulty showerhead stem. It took just over a week to receive a response regarding the submitted claim, then another 8 business days for them to approve the estimate for the repair. The amount the plan covers for such a repair is really minimal. After over 10 years with American Home Shield, we switched due to poor customer service and increasing monthly subscription rates. We will likely switch to Choice Home Warranty, due to better reviews and pricing. Super has been disappointing so far.

The worst home warranty company that exists. There is never a live person you can talk too. Attempting to get anything done with this home warranty is beyond absurd. Horrible customer service. Response time also is more than 48 hours. They are quick to charge. They have a $50 administrative fee for cancelling subscription, which is unnecessary when they are not keeping their end of the bargain. Never again! I would never recommend this home warranty company to anyone. If you are looking for a home warranty please look elsewhere. AHS, Select, Choice any other home warranty except this one.

I work in the legal/real estate field. I have nothing nice to say about this company. They are among the highest in the industry. The SELLER paid for my warranty at closing, but Super automatically charged renewals TO ME without consent. Super required me to pay for a service call when the service technician never came out to my house. This last time, the tech utilized my personal photos, performed an evaluation using my pictures (without even looking at the work) and then Super denied the claim, stating that I should have regular service company maintain my equipment, and if I did, they probably stepped on the equipment and broke it. I have not disclosed that I in fact do have a regular... Read More

When I gad a $600 problem w my regulator on my air conditioner you offered to cover $150. Not what our contract states. Dishonest business practices. Will not renew with you when you do not cover what you agreed too.

Garbage! Do not purchase warranty! It's a waste of money. Had A/C issue, blamed it on preexisting condition. Had an oven making loud noise, they said if it still works they wont repair for noise issue. USELESS!!!
