ASPCA Coverage

Coverage - 4 / 5

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Plans can cover accidents, dental disease, behavioral issues, illnesses, and hereditary conditions (not pre-existing).

Each coverage includes diagnostics, treatment, and exam fees related to covered conditions.

Plans also cover non-traditional treatments like acupuncture and stem cell therapy.

In addition to its Complete Coverage plan, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has an Accident-Only plan as well as preventive care add-ons at an additional cost.

Like all pet insurance, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance plans do not cover pre-existing conditions that occur or show symptoms before the policy effective date or during any applicable waiting period.

However, if the pet is free from symptoms, treatment, and cured for 180 days, the condition will no longer count as pre-existing, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. If a knee and ligament condition occurs before the coverage effective date or during a waiting period, any future ones won’t be covered.

I have coverage with them for about a year. my dog got cancer and they did not cover the surgery she needed. Since then, theyve also raised my premiums and give no reason as to why.

To get a claim done takes 3-5 months. I had this insurance for 7 years. I paid around $100 monthly for level 4. My dog got cancer. They did not paid my claim for surgery. Don't be confused by SPCA name. This is not SPCA.

I was a loyal customer for 6 years, filing only two claims during that period. When I did file claims, I was receiving 15-18% of the actual cost incurred, as they only payout for their estimated costs. By the end of the 6th year, my plan had increased by 100% from the original price, and over 33% in just one year. At the end of the day, I spent 2,000 - 3,000 more on the insurance plan, then if I paid out of pocket. Scam.

I love ACPCA never had problems getting payment. If your pet is as important as any other member of your family they deserve the best. If your pet is getting older just as we are medical insurance goes up why, because we get illness, sudden problems we don't expect in our younger years. I would rather pay more and know Sam is covered.

I would not recommend ASPCA Pet Insurcance. I decided to get pet insurance because I thought it would be helpful. My cat does have a pre-existing condition and I was aware it was not covered. Nothing else is covered either. He had a minor back injury that was treated with medication for pain. That was not covered either. Nothing has been covered even if it had nothing to do with his pre-existing condition. So if there is pre-existing condition NOTHING is covered.

I had ASPCA insurance with a 10 month old puppy who had to see the vet for disarrhea / GI issues. I repeatedly provided them with all available records as did my vet however they refused to process claims because we didn’t provide records going back a year HE’S a RESCUE PUPPY!!! There are no records going back. This insurance is worthless, everything to them is pre-exisiting. AVOID!

I paid ASPCA $1,729.64 over a 2 year period and when I finally submitted a claim for $616, ($500 deductible and 80% of the balance), they would NOT honor the claim. After my deductible, they would have ONLY owed me approximately $92. I Cancelled before they STOLE one more dime from me!

What a rip-off. After two months of spending over $1,000 out of pocket for my dog's health needs including an allergy test, ear infection cleaning, and new prescription medicine to disinfect his ears, ASPCA pet insurance reimbursed a whopping $34!!! Outrageous. This doesn't even approach how much I have paid out of pocket so far this year. I expect my most recent claim to be denied anything, and afterwards will cancel my plan with these scam artists. They are not even run by the ASPCA themselves. That's right, this so-called "Insurance" is just a money pit owned and operated by Crum and Forster, an insurance provider that goes by many different "brands". Link... Read More

I have ASPCA insurance for two of my dogs (Bowie & Zoey). They are generally very healthy animals. However, when we did use the insurance and have a claim for both dogs we found that their response time to act on both claims was very unreasonable. It was an average of two months per claim. To add insult to injury we received pennies on a dollar. I will be cancelling the insurance. Not worth the cost. For what they pay out, we are better off trying another company that will treat us better or go it on our own like we have for years. Save your money, not worth it.

Our Golden Retriever was diagnosed with Pancreatitis at age of 3 by or veterinarian. She needed Pancrea Plus powder to regulate her pancreas. After several months ASPCA refused to reimburse claiming her condition was hereditary even though the veterinarian substantiated that it was not. Recently she passed away due to end-stage liver failure. Our final expense was $8500.00, ASPCA reimbursed us $1950. claiming her her lifetime reimbursement exceeded allowable amount. Prior to her passing we incurred several expenses exceeding $3500 in ultra sound scans trying to narrow down her ailment. Again they refused payment claiming lifetime allowable amount was reached. Our recommendation,... Read More
