ASPCA Coverage

Coverage - 4 / 5

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Plans can cover accidents, dental disease, behavioral issues, illnesses, and hereditary conditions (not pre-existing).

Each coverage includes diagnostics, treatment, and exam fees related to covered conditions.

Plans also cover non-traditional treatments like acupuncture and stem cell therapy.

In addition to its Complete Coverage plan, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has an Accident-Only plan as well as preventive care add-ons at an additional cost.

Like all pet insurance, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance plans do not cover pre-existing conditions that occur or show symptoms before the policy effective date or during any applicable waiting period.

However, if the pet is free from symptoms, treatment, and cured for 180 days, the condition will no longer count as pre-existing, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. If a knee and ligament condition occurs before the coverage effective date or during a waiting period, any future ones won’t be covered.

They won't cover claims if you don't submit them right away. I've lost over $1000 because of a hidden clause in the policy. If my pet didn't have pre-existing conditions I would switch companies. I won't buy form them again with any new pets.

My experience with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance has been excellent. I enrolled my new puppy in April 2019, and she had surgery for a shoulder injury in November 2019. I submitted a detailed claim which ASPC paid promptly and fully, after my deductible was met. ASPCA requested further information from my veterinarian and the surgeon, but never questioned me directly or disputed any of my charges. I received a check within a reasonable time. I believe the rates and coverage are fair and reasonable and I will certainly continue my coverage when it is time to renew.
