I used Allianz when I purchased tickets for a play. It was cancelled due to the coronavirus. When I submitted my claim it was denied since it was an epidemic. I will NEVER use this company again and would advise others to do the same. There are so many exclusions that the policy is worthless!

I took out Allianz travel insurance on 10/24/19 well before the COVID 19 outbreak. My trip was scheduled for 3/10/20-3/15/20 for $4,554, dollars, I cancelled on 3/9/20 when the pandemic was declared, people were dying on ships, Italy was experiencing major death and hardship, and Americans were advised not to travel out of the County. By 3/11/20, the US govt. stopped all travel to European countries and wanted Americans back by midnight on 3/13/20. In spite of submitting documentation, the pandemic and a clause on my contract stating a covered reason is,"Unable to receive immunization," I have not received reimbursement. I have called, faxed requested documentation and waited on line,.... Read More

This place is a joke. Save your money it’s a giant rip off. These people are heartless and don’t give a crap about the healthcare workers in the frontlines that have to cancel their vacations bc of the COVID PANDEMIC. Do yourself a favor an use different insurance or none at all .

This company is Terrible. Booked a Viking river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest for mid April to mid May 2020. Bought Allianz One-Trip insurance on 10/2018, on a recommendation, when we booked the cruise.. On March 11th cruise was cancelled due to Covid-19. On March 16th Allianz announced - on their website - that for a limited time - Allianz would cancel and fully reimburse any policy for any trip cancelled for Covid-19 if the travel company canceled the trip due to Covid-19 . March 13th made first phone call to Allianz at recommended phone number. Reached person I could hardly understand and sent info to wrong e-mail. Then made two contacts to Allianz website hearing nothing in... Read More

I will never purchase this insurance again. It covered nothing when as an MD a schedule change prevented me from travelling on Amtrak. They responded after a claim that schedule change was not a reason to cancel. Amtrak tickets were non refundable as always.

If you buy emergency medical insurance from Allianz, they will not extend the coverage period if you extend the length of your trip, no matter what. They will also not sell you a new policy for the additional travel time, even if your'e covered under an existing policy. So, if there is any chance you will stay beyond your initial coverage period, as I must do for another week, you are screwed. You cannot extend and you must return home to get a new policy. Insurance is intended to cover unforeseen events and charge a cost based on the risk. Extended trips are common but unforeseen. To refuse coverage once you have purchase a policy is, I believe, an unethical practice or policy.

I used AGA insurance in October, 2018. When my flight was delayed by the air company due to the technical issues for 11 hours and then cancelled, they didn’t cover anything.

The worst experience I ve ever had with a company. They do not take customer service seriously. My claim was unjustly denied and NO ONE I spoke with at Allianz was interested in helping me. I would NEVER recommend this insurance to anyone. They will find a loop hole...
