Hunter Douglas is miserable to deal with. They have awful customer service and when there's a problem with one of their products, the item can't be fixed on site but instead, has to be removed, shipped back to their factory and then, takes 3 weeks to a month to be returned. I had multiple problems with a particular shade that was in my bedroom, at the front of the house. It was removed and shipped back to them and I was supposed to be ok with the repair taking a month each time. Ridiculous. Ten minutes ago, I had replacement shades installed in my bedroom by Next Day Blinds. This is the second room in my home where I have made that change and as other window treatments age around... Company does not stand behind its “Guaranty” I have Hunter Douglas shutters and blinds. The blinds were defective and I noticed wrinkles in the material about a year after installation. My designer came out and agreed the should be returned. Designer returned them with Hunter Douglas response that it was an environmental issue - the are blinds that hang on wall. No other reason was given. LIFETIME GUARANTEE is a SHAM

I was sold a defective blind by Hunter Douglas and they were very resistive to replacing it and would not pay the $85 installation fee for the replacement shade to be installed. The customer service agent was argumentative and said it was not part of their warantee and the I would have to work it out with the dealer. I did not think it was the dealer's responsibility since they did not make the defective blind. Will go with curtains or another brand in the future.

We ordered Hunter Douglass blinds from Costco back in 2011. The Design Consultant and Installer were nice, did a good job with the installation, and told me the blinds had a Lifetime Guarantee. Long story short, the pull mechanisms are starting to fail and now they say the warranty will not cover any of it. BUYER BEWARE! I'll never purchase Hunter Douglass again. Warranty is fraudulent and only covers limited parts up to 7 years in the fine print when it's too late. $95 per shade to restring, plus shipping. I spent a lot of money on these for my sunroom and this is how they back their product. What garbage!

Worst customer service. My Everwood blinds were delivered and installed and I noticed after the installer left that they appeared dirty. I thought I'd just clean it myself not to be a hassle. I tried to clean one of the blinds and quickly noticed they were not coming clean. So I contacted support to understand what could be on them. They were pretty dirty. Almost looked like a pattern in the white color. I was told to send back a blind for inspection. It was difficult for me to figure out how to uninstall one and find a large enough box. Less than a year ago we purchased Hunter Douglas blinds after the completion of a total residential renovation. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN HD PRODUCT AGAIN. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PRICE OF OUR TOTAL INSTALL WAS OVER $16, 000. Our Luminettes overall fail to close properly, but the main issue was a vane in which we experienced delamination of the fabric. This set is in a master bedroom where the blinds are gently/rarely used. The installer came out to re-secure the fabric as I was unable to, and he indicated that a new panel should be ordered as a replacement as warmer weather may cause the issue to re-occur. Please read all the negative below and it is unfortunate true to my experience. Their product warranty is a joke, they sent me around with a few numbers to call. Then it cost me more than $200 just for the dealer to ship my blinds out for diagnosis. I was told when at time of order they are 10 years warranty. "Hunter Douglas blind slats are only covered by the warranty if it is determined the slats are defective. Hunter Douglas will need to look at the blinds to determine this. We have Hunter Douglas Blinds in our apartment, that we are very unhappy with. Purchased via an Interior Designer, we have three individual panels. They were not cheap to purchase or have installed, and two of the three panels have broken in the raising/lowering gear mechanism three different times. These blinds are in a household with two retired adults, so they are not subject to rough or constant use that might be encountered in a larger household with children etc... Each time this has happened, we are responsible for taking them down and having them shipped for repair. We have four windows with two shades each on them. They have never worked properly. The company will not provide the parts under warranty to make them work. The local tech has been out three or four times. The shades just stay down now. What a waste of thousands of dollars. I would highly recommend you buy something else.
