I have been a client of USAA for 46 years. I have had multiple automobile claims and homeowner insurance claims. Each incident has been handled quickly and has left me very satisfied with their attitude and service. I was speaking to the owner of a collision repair shop and explaining what I wanted done on the vehicle. He stopped me and said, "That is up to the insurance company." When I told him that I had USAA, he laughed and said there would be no problem. "They will do whatever you want." It was an exaggeration but very close to the truth. USAA IS A JOKE! If you are hit or involved in an accident with a member of USAA, be ready to be disappointed!! Low total loss amount for my car. More than 6 weeks since claim submitted and all contact has been initiated by me. Good luck trying to get someone to answer your call or return a call. This has got to be one of the worst Auto Insurance companies ever, stay away! Followed all their protocol and were assigned a claim number. After numerous calls to the person handling our claim we are still getting nowhere, the "we are still investigating" line. BULLSH*T!

I am a retired Naval Officer, and have had car insurance with USAA for over 44 years. In their early years the customer service was professional and efficient, now, since their steady expansion into other than insurance, the driving force of USAA is sales, profit, and minimal person to person customer service. To get a human being to discuss any aspect of my policy requires a minimum of 2 minutes of automated responses, followed by another 3 minutes of repeating the same info to a person to 'verify' my identity. These customer service reps are not allowed to do other than dumbly follow some preset dialog to 'help' me, and do not listen to what their customers tell them. I ask to speak... Read More

I do not appreciate how I was talked to during my claim and specifically the call during which the decision was made to deny my claim. The person who first talked to me and took my incoming claim was awesome, patient and very empathetic. The second person who took my claim was not personal at all. I understand that a claims adjuster is not in customer service but there should be a certain level of professionalism at all times while dealing with a member. I firstly felt like I was being interrogated.. I could understand if I had a claim in my first policy term but I have been a member of USAA for 12 years. These criminals kept me on hold repeatedly, passing me around to different representatives for over 2 hours. After that they tild me the department I needed to speak to was closed and I would have to call back the next day. I have never felt so disrespected and toyed with in my lufe. I wil NEVER use USAA again for ANY type of financial or insurance service.

Run!!! I had fraudulent activity on my credit/debt card. I was told my card will be sent to me in a few days. They never sent me one. I cannot get money. The Rep even told me to ask people for money. We had a automobile policy with 5 cars and 5 drivers (3 under 23), it was an expensive policy. Customer service is horrible. We have gone with a new company about $1200 less, better coverage and a umbrella policy. Couldn't be happier that we left !!

my car was in 4 feet of flood water .my claim was submitted on 12-21-18 and hear it is the first week of march and iaa or iia who is supposed to pick the car up from the shop still has not done so i have sent the title in weeks ago. it took the sub contracted claims adjuster forever to come out just to take pics he came out Feb21 of this year when the claim i made was 12-21-18 and then took the guy another 4 days to get to the shop where they had it go to be taken apart to see how much damage was done by the water. the guy deemed it a total loss that same day and here it is 2 weeks later no payment no nothing still paying insurance and was told the same as you about being back dated .... Have been a USAA customer for many years. Although we have not had many Auto Claims, every claim was handled professionally and efficiently. USAA does have competitive rates, and does have a subscriber savings plan. Will continue with USAA for my insurance needs.
