They frivolously deny claims and ask for unrealistic documentation beyond what the provided medical service is physically able to provide.

Wow, I just skipped to page 17 of these comments and they are all horrible....so, I just wanted to say I completely agree and really don't understand why they get 5 star ratings from the government and salesman. I get caught up in thinking well they must be the best, but all these reviews say they are awful...and they are..you got a problem, you are sent to the off shore call center who can only read a script, and will not understand, try to understand, or fix your problem. You call more folks, some that can speak American, and they can't help you. Thier apps don't work, and I was told my app was compromised...I complained to medicare...and they didn't care!

Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They automatically changed to secondary insurance without reaching out to find that I did not have another primary insurance. Then they started denying claims. Took six months to straighten out. They had paid a claim, rescinded payment and then still would not pay a claim and left me to pay the bill. Should be zero stars.

Every claim seems to get an automatic denial. I get gas lit, and spoken down to whenever I talk to associates. I can’t get straight answers to my questions, they circle around the question and provide a smoke and mirror answer. I really have had a bad experience with UHC.

UHC is leaving us without doctors. They are not signing with Boulder Community Health and we keep getting notices we will have no doctors after Sept 30. This is so bogus. Just like that- our entire health history and our on-going care are gone. My husband has cancer and is scheduled for surgery in Nov and he won't have insurance with his doctor. People face it- you are at their mercy and they don't have any mercy. They would rather send you $10 for talking to a friend than sign up competent and very wonderful doctors. They could keep their optium over the counter health benefits and they can keep their home nurse check up just give us back our doctors. Last month I would have... Read More

If I could get to this box without leaving any stars I would. UHC doesn’t deserve anything! This insurance is criminal! You and your doctor have to jump through so many hoops to get anything done. So much corrupt gray area! There must be a lot of politicians in bed with United Health Care. Having this insurance is like having no insurance, but you’re still paying a high monthly price. The people in charge of UHC sicken me😡

My husband's insurance was switched from Blue Advantage to United Healthcare. The transition process has turned into a NIGHTMARE. We are currently trying to figure out why their website shows my husband can obtain his Advair Diskus 90-day supply for $6.19 -- and then when he ordered it, they changed the price to $118. So far we've talked to Optum reps as well as UHC reps. NO STRAIGHT ANSWERS except to say "the plan" does not cover the generic of this drug?! (But the $6.19 price on the website isn't for generic anyway, it's for "brand.") Nearly a week into this tangled mess and still no answer in sight -- AND, Optum Rx shipped these drugs and billed him at the higher price without his... Read More

Worst insurance I have ever had. They deny everything first, even when your doctor says you need a surgery right away or you could become paralyzed. Only after several appeals will they relent and approve it. I just got denied again for a prescription. I freakin' hate UHC. Oh - and I pay $997 per month for a policy with a $8,000 deductible.
