Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

Since purchasing this warranty I have made 2 claims to which 0.00 dollars have been paid. The first was a gas leak on our oven. Not only did it take about 3 weeks to get a technician assigned but when came and I paid him 65.00 he took one look and said he could not work on it because it wasn't red tagged by the gas company. He left and I haven't heard from him since. The gas company had no idea what a red tag was. I ended up paying 120.00 out of my pocket for the repair. So I paid 185.00 with no help from the warranty. I am not happy with Choice at this time. I filed another claim on my refrigerator. For the third time a repair man came out to repair the refrigerator. It still does not work properly. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told that there was none available, and they were not taking calls. My fridge has been out for three weeks before a service man was dispatched. I have lost a lot of product and, was told they were not responsible for lost product. I asked to speak to someone from the evaluation team on my claim and was told that they were also not taking any calls. What kind of operation are you running ? I am very displeased

Choice Home Warranty is the best of the best available. I filed claim at 11 PM and by next morning at 11 AM the issue was resolved. Highly recommended. Very professional and friendly customer service.

Sears was the repair service called out to take care of our kitchen range. The oven element was replaced and the technician was pleasant, and made the replacement very efficiently. The only waiting period was for the new element to be delivered which also was in a good time frame.
