Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

It has been only 2 weeks since I paid for the Policy in full for 5 years and I want to cancel it now. The policy document that they sent me after I paid in full was a surprise to me. There is huge difference and discrepancy between what the sales representative said and what the policy document reads. The sections 8 (ii) and 8 (iii) in the policy document gives Select Home Warranty company the exclusive right to pay cash settlement not to exceed the "depreciated value" of the component/appliance being replaced when they determine it is not cost effective to repair. My old plan was cancelling and I wanted to try Select because it was cheaper than my previous company. I spoke with a representative name Abraham and before I could finish getting my quote done, he was emailing and calling me to see if I had questions. The phone call was a high pressure type of conversation where it seemed he was trying to sell me something unrealistic and wasn't apart of the normal plan, and I felt uncomfortable and told him so. As my previous home warranty was ending I decided to give Select Home Warranty a try, I signed up on a discount plan where I was able to break my payment into two payments of $200 with my contract slated to begin on September 23. On September 1 my A/C went out and I decided to submit a claim online with SHW to see if we could work something out and they send a contractor. I followed that claim up on September 2 with a phone call discussing the matter and asked that if I made my 2nd payment early could that put my account in the 'Active' status and submit the claim. My wife and the house help clogged the sink on my son's birthday party. After the party, we called SHW to submit a claim and was assisted by Angela. She said that the claim will be handled accordingly. She scheduled a repair visit the next day and the tech that came in named Alex was able to unclog the sink and cleaned it within an hour. That was a pretty fast approach to a claim and I liked it. My wife even suggested the subject for this review as we were happy with Angela and Alex's service. Thanks Select for giving us the chance t be assisted by your talented people.

I am a customer for half a year already and Select has saved me and my family a nice amount of money and gave us the assurance that our appliances are protected. Me being their customer for a yr and a half had few claims that were resolved real - time. I can even remember when I first submitted a claim about my dishwasher, I thought that they will just send someone to fix it, what happened was, even if I am just new with them, they approved the tech claim that the washer needs a replacement.. That indeed is a huge savings for me. Thank you Select!

All I can say is RUN!!!! The sales guys will tell you anything you want to hear to make there home warranty program seem like it’s just the thing you need. READ THE FINE PRINT AND THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS on there website. I truly almost feel like I could cry after dealing with them for the past 3 days. Here a summary of what happened. After reviewing there policy for two days I decided I didn’t like it and wanted to cancel, because everything they promised over the phone was not in the policy they sent me. Select Home Warranty plans' price is less expensive than that of the others and the coverage is awesome. But what really made me signed up with them is the fact that they are superb in terms of customer care / customer service. Before I signed up, I guess I did call them twice or thrice to inquire, ask questions and clear things as to what will I really get from them that I won't get with the others. What caught my attention on those call, the representatives didn't talk negatively of the other companies, they gave and stress the positive things Select can offer its customers. Great training indeed. Looking forward to talking to other smart and professional reps.

Worst company I have ever did business with they never told me my items would be depreciated when I turned in a claim they want me to except a very small fraction of replacement cost I have asked to speak to the person in Authority multiple times and never got I called back or email 11 days into my this process they told me I had to buy the item and send them my receipt before they would send me the tiny check I asked for a list have items that they depreciate and what qualifies them to be depreciated they said there was none and they could not give me any information on that A sales person called me to renew my contract with them and I asked them three times if this company...
