Claims Processing - 3 / 5

Universal Home Protection clients can expect to be charged a reasonable 75 dollar service fee every time they file a claim.

However, the company requires a 30 day waiting period from the date of enrollment before they can begin receiving service.

Although it does not constitute a drawback, UHP only allows clients to select contractors from their network, which some may find limiting.

I used the service for the first time on a cracked toilet bowl the water tank. the process setting up service call was easy and fast. The plumbing company came out next day, informed my wife that the whole bowl needed to be changed out and it would cost around $600.00. I was really taken off by this cost, because at any hardware store the cheapest bowl is under $100 and top line was about $300.00. I wasn't there at the time the contractor came out so aim looking at over $200.00 coming out of my pocket plus . I called the company and spoke to josh and informed him I think the contractor was over pricing the bowl and installation he didn't seem to care . I saw the same bowl with all hardware... Read More

Just called for a service to my home the claim person who took my claim was very nice(josh), and the contract company called out showed up the next day to look at the crack troilite bowl. The part which holds the water had a crack and was leaking, the contractor looked at the problem and stated it needed to be replace and it would cost around $600.00 . I have priced bowls at lowes and HD and it doesn't cost anything close to that price. I called again spoke to Josh who informed me we have a $500.00 limit . I asked him this cost he stated was very high , which will cost me over $200,00 out of my pocket with $75.00 plus overage seems to me I can do it myself for under $120.00 . when I asked... This company is no good, their contractors are not honest. He Claimed To changed the parts to my dryer and stove but I watched him do the work he did not and within two weeks both dryer and stove were not working. And they are asking for more money to come back and fix the problem.

I have filed a claim for my washer over a week ago. I'm still waiting to be contacted by the Warranty Company and/or someone to fix it. I finally reached out to the warranty company, was told it was "their error" no one followed up with me. Called the contractor they assigned, was told "sorry, I'm not the one who takes care of that, you'll have to call back". I can see how this is going to go!
