So many varying reviews, but gave it a try. Setup was clunky and confusing, despite graphical interface to the contrary. The configuration and control of each device, rules and general workflow is poor--indicating a lack of insight into what should be obvious. We'll give it a try for 30 days. All the other apps out there have similar limitations. Incredible--this should be a no-brainer.
I am not sure how this application obtains a high rating. The comments section is not good and my comments won't be any better. Qustdio is not effective at limiting screen time. There are two general setting option for limiting computer use. The first is a lock device option which is utterly useless because when the child's allowed time expires they are not able to log out. If they are not logged out, then their available computer time begins to count down at midnight the next day. When the user tries to log back on they find their time has already expired. Useless. Lousy customer support - you cannot get immediate assistance and it takes over 24 hours to get a pithy response. Repeated issue is that you cannot read outgoing/incoming text messages over 50% of the time. When you submit your request for assistance you wait a day or two and then they give you the same message to delete and re-add the app. What good does that do for a parent who wants to monitor text messages in real time? I guess I'll switch to Bark and pay more but have consistent service.
I don’t know exactly what’s going on with Qustodio but for last 5 months I cannot get the appropriate information that I used to get. I loved it when I first purchased. I could know immediately what or where my daughter was doing on internet. Now the days of use on timeline are all out of whack and so are the times. I will not renew my subscription, oh and I have given them numerous emails to answer questions without a satisfactory response. I’m upset because I am not getting the service I paid for. I’m giving a two star but only because it worked properly in the beginning.
This app was not helpful to me the app suppose to track the other person phone but it didn't so i lost my money this is like the 4th app i done tried im just trying to track a cell phone and location that's it i give up
I would say that the complaints are more than handful. Also given that they only have emails which takes 1-2 days for them to answer and FAQ’s for helpline how can you give them a 4.5 rating? Your definition of customer service and other people’s definition must be quite different. When people need help they want help right away not two days later. If they have a follow up questions they have to wait another two days as they have to send another email.
The monitor is through VPN my 10 years old boy was able to figure out how to bypass is.
I am an IT professional and I can tell you 100% that this product does not work 100% of the time. There are several ways a smart 10 or 12-year-old can bypass their program on a tablet also. Qustodio also has not so good end-user support and sometimes takes days for them to reply to you. I can see how a novice parent can see this as effective about 75% of the time but when the child is on two or three devices it is proving to be unsuccessful at what it's supposed to accomplish.
It is very difficult to cancel Qustodio. There is no place on your account to access when your account started and what the billing cycle is. I have tried to cancel by email multiple times and received no reply. Then they billed my credit card again. Now I have filed a complaint with my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau.
Is very inconsistent in what it monitors and blocks. Scheduling locked times seldom works. Should have taken them up on the 30 day money back guarantee.
