Fetch is a leading provider of pet insurance in Canada and is a company dedicated to helping pet owners keep the costs of pet treatments under control. Fetch's standard plan covers new illnesses and accidents without restrictions for hereditary or congenital conditions. The company also provides a wide range of treatment options that would typically not be available in other companies' standard offers. Medications, diagnostic testing, non-preventative dental treatments, MRI, CAT Scan and ultrasound are all offered as standard as well. Summary

Fetch provides a good mix of coverage and benefit options that makes it a solid choice if you are looking for pet insurance in Canada. Filing a claim is easy and claims are typically reimbursed within a couple of days. The company also features a number of discount options that can help pet owners make pet insurance more affordable. AARP members, Walmart shoppers, and pet parents who adopt can save on premiums, subject to approval. Fetch pretty much covers all the standard items you'd be looking for in a pet insurance provider and more. The fact that older animals are not discriminated against is a big plus, and 24/7 support, comprehensive coverage including payment of the veterinary exam fees, and great customer service are all nothing to sneeze at as well.

I have been writing and phoning for months now regarding a large dental claim made by my now deceased father. He was still alive when we started asking for an accounting of our claim that was only partially paid out. I have requested by email an itemized accounting of what was and was not paid out and the reasons. No phone calls have been answered, no emails have been answered. Good luck trying to find a phone number to call. This is not my only complaint about this company. I would give them zero stars if I could

I adopted my dog three years ago, and he was quite sick while I had him. I am very thankful that I chose Petplan because I wouldn't have been able to provide the care for my dog if it weren't for Petplan. It was very straightforward to submit the claims and the turnaround time was always very quick (at most 2 - 3 weeks). I know that Petplan had some issues with the new mobile app but even with that I was still able to see the submitted claims and it didn't affect the process of recompensation. If I ever muster up the strength to adopt another dog, I will definitely be returning to Petplan.

Beware of this company. I have been with them for 7 years now and every single time I have a claim, they try to get out of paying it. Every single time. If they do end up paying anything towards it, it is always significantly less than what is expected, based on my $300 deductible and 20% co-pay. I have to call them and have corrections made every time, not to mention the fact that they increase my premium by approximately $330 every single year, whether I have had any claims or not. In hindsight, I wish I had just saved myself the $1,500 per year and just put the money in a savings account for my dog for emergencies. It would be a lot less hassle and I would have a lot more money in my... Read More

By far the worst company to deal with, They do not understand the meaning of customer service. I have worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years and have had to work with many pet insurance companies and this one i would not recommend if it was the last one standing. They double charged my Credit card with NO NOTIFICATION, placed EXCLUSIONS on my cats policy, LOST MY MEDICAL REVIEW. INCREASED my annual premiums by aprox 800$ because my cat got a year older and has done it 3 years in a row. they have also removed discounts with no notification. When i called and asked for an explanation was advised that they couldn't help and would have a supervisor call. Needless to say the... Read More

For my last claim I received the response: "the remaining adjusted total of $348.40 does not exceed your chosen policy deductible of $350". I am not pleased that this is the 2nd time I have not been approved for submissions citing it's never over the deductible.

Previously dealt with Petplan for over 20 years and had a good experience with them, however can no longer recommend them. They are no longer helpful, cancel contracts outright and reinstate with substantially higher premiums with new underwriters. Their sales agents cannot answer straightforward questions, and refer to scripts that they've been trained with that are not helpful to the customer. Cannot ethically recommend them, and would suggest exploring other options or putting "your premium" into a short-term investment to create a rainy day fund. Not impressed with their general lack of caring.

Not happy. Premium was increased substantially with no communication. None of the promised call backs happened.

I recently adopted my 10 year old foster cat. I was exploring pet insurance plans having had a cat previously who had not been insured due to limitations based on age and alleged previous conditions unsupported by my records.. PetPLan seemed the best but when I applied and completed the form, indicating my preferences, the quote returned with a much larger deductible and premium than I had specified, which was unacceptable. Then I discovered complaints about cancelling and decided not to apply.
