Figo is a Chicago-based pet insurance provider that cover cats and dogs. Founded in 2012, Figo takes a very technology-centric approach to pet insurance, incorporating a cloud-based platform to manage all your medical records and relevant information.

The company offers plans that cap benefits at either $5,000 or $10,000 as well as an unlimited benefit plan.

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

Unlike some of our other top companies, Figo does not select unlimited coverage for you as a default. You can choose between $5,000, $10,000, and unlimited.

For complete peace of mind you may have to go with the high end plan to get the unlimited coverage, as advanced techniques and specialized treatments are costing more than ever before. Figo does not operate on a benefit schedule.

Figo covers all dogs and cats 8 weeks and older. There is no upper age limit, which is great as many other plans have one. There are also no breed restrictions.

Waiting periods for accidents and injuries is 1 days, and 14 days for illnesses. There is also a 6-month waiting period for problems associated with hip dysplasia and orthopedic, but the waiting period may be waived if your vet submits a form that certifies your pet has no pre-existing orthopedic conditions.

Figo offers multiple pet discount and a corporate group benefit plan. Discounts may vary by state.

Figo customers have exclusive access to the Figo Pet Cloud app, including features like a 24/7 Virtual Vet and easy mobile claim filing. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up for a full refund.

Figo's claims process is completely paperless and features fast and easy mobile claims with an average approval time of 2-5 days. Over 50% of claims are closed in 24 hours. Submit claims right through the Pet Cloud app by simply answering a few questions and sending a picture of the invoice. Evie, Figo’s AI chat assistant, will walk you through the process step by step. Once your claim has been submitted, their real-time claims tracker allows you to see exactly where your claim is in the process. Turnaround times are faster if you select direct deposit.

You can either take a picture of the bill with your phone and submit it via the cloud or uploaded it to your email client and send it that way. Turnaround times are faster than most if you select direct deposit.

I've been if I go client for over 3 years and have never had a problem. I have a bulldog so she does have many issues. I believe that the cost I pay for the insurance is very reasonable and I think the customer service I receive is exemplary.

Have had this insurance with my current rescue that we adopted. Have been with FIGO for 15 months. We have not had to use much, but every time we have, claims processing has been fantastic. I have had others with my prior dogs, but the service you get from FIGO is by far the best service we have experienced.

When shopping for pet insurance, you will find that Figo hands down has THE most flexibility to be able to choose the best fit for your needs and your budget. Once you select your coverage level (yes there are options!) you can choose from several combinations of annual deductible amount, annual payout limit, and percentage of coverage. Figo is also one of the only (if not THE only) pet insurance companies to offer an unlimited annual payout option and a 100% payout option on claims (most max out at 90%). Let's talk claims... I hardly ever leave reviews, but i am one to rely heavily on reviews before committing to something. I owe it to all pet parents to write this review, so hear me out and please trust me , you’re reading this review because you are a loving pet parent! You want what’s best for your pet and look no further FIGO is amazing. I looked into pet insurance in 2018 when my dog, Chubby was 8 years old. He was a very healthy at the time but I knew that with age comes disease , so I wanted to be prepared. Well the first 2 years, I like to joke and say I gifted FIGO my money because I didn’t submit any claims ! I asked myself if it was time to cancel, so glad I didn’t. January 2020 my poor Chubby... Great and easy process. They are always available to help and answer our questions. Submitting a claim is so easy and the turn around time for getting reimbursed is very quick. Overall very happy with FIGO.

When I adopted my dog 3 years ago, I searched for Pet Insurance. I found Figo to be the best coverage for the price. Their customer service was great. After 1 year the price of the same policy went up by almost $200. When talking to a service rep (who was very understanding) she said they had noticed the increase and were in the process of changing the underwriters. I had to decrease my coverage to afford the policy. Waiting to see what it will be at renewal time. May have to search for different ins. My reason for the average rating.

Funny I don't recall this being a good experience with this company at all. I hadn't even been a customer for a yet. 1st time I turned in a claim it took over 5 months & the second claim taking almost a month with them denying both of them stating they were preexisting. IN WHICH CASE THEY WERE NOT> NOT EVEN THE VETS OFFICE CONSIDERS THEM PREEXISTING. I filed an appeal at the beginning of November 2019 and here we were almost at the end of December 2019 and I have still heard nothing from this so called OUTSTANDING company as they claim it to be. THEY JUST LIKE LETTING PEOPLE PAY FOR STUFF AND JUST DENY THE CLAIMS SO CUSTOMERS GET NOTHING IN RETURN FOR THE MONEY THEY HAVE SPENT WITH... Read More
