Choice Home Warranty offers existing homeowners two plans, each of which cover a mix of systems and appliances. The primary difference between its Total plan and its Basic plan is that refrigerators, washers and dryers, and air conditioning systems are not included in the Basic Plan. We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The Service we received by both CHW and the company Mehan and Sons Air Conditioning and Heating were top notch. Everyone was quick to respond to our issue and our AC was fixed in a timely manner. The technician was very informative of what the issue was and promptly fixed the problem. Thank you to everyone for making this first experience with CHW a successful one.

I must say I am totally pleased with the service I received. Our AC went out early Sunday morning so I called for service. The tech came out and solved the problem right away. He quickly repaired the problem and our AC was back on. I truly recommend this service.

they turn down more claims than any of the other companies. choice is denying a claim because dust was laying on the bottom of my ac unit. they claimed this cause a sealed compressor to be ruined by this dust. the unit is outside and if i cleaned it daily some dust would accumulate on a regular basis. the unit was serviced two months ago by one of their contractors and he did not report and issues with the unit.

I called Choice regarding my refrigerator. The repairman was very unprofessional. It took 3 weeks to get the part that was needed. After replacing the door panel control, He advised me that I had a power surge. That did not correct the problem. Choice later notified me that the problems with the refrigerator were pre existing according to the repairman said there were multiple things wrong that had to have happened before the warranty and denied the claim. I later got another repair company to come and they replaced the control panel in the back of the refrigerator and that corrected all the problems. I am rating Choice Home Warranty a Zero! Please do not waste your money. We had a compressor go bad on our air conditioner. Choice Warrant totally denied the claim because they said there was dirt laying on the ground below the compressor and this caused the fan to burn out. The unit is a steeled unit and is located outside. No one at the company could explain to me how dirt blowing around would stop a 12 year compressor from working. ??!! Basically, it is this company's "policy" to not pay claims. Like I said, don't waste your money. By the way. the technician they sent to look at the unit was great, very knowledgeable. Entered a request for a furnace problem at 8pm and received a call from the repair company by 915pm and furnace was repaired before noon the next day. It was not an emergency repair

I live in Texas and have been out of an air conditioner and heater since 9/23/16 and Choice still has not resolved the issue. They want to use their cheap parts and have sent the wrong part and broken parts so far. Also we had an electrical issue last month and the techs they sent were wearing some kind of dope shirts and my cows knew more about electricity than they did. On a dishwasher claim they turned it down due to my wife mentioning she had seen a bug on dishwasher one time , tech did not even check the washer he just turned in bugs and we were turned down. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Wasted many a day waiting on calls from techs or Choice that never came. Bad... Read More
