We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

I have had to use the warranty 2 times. both times the service was quick job done right and fast. first one they had to order part but only took a couple days. well worth the peace of mine.

I was looking for a home warranty provider that covered major homecoming appliances, AC units, and the best customer service. I have been nothing but disappointed with CHW. They advertised a product that would be there for their customers and that has not been delivered. I made 3 separate claims on my AC unit between June 2, 2016 -October 18, 2016 with the same problem reported. My unit was freezing up and not cooling my home. June 2 was the 1st call placed and freon. The 2nd and 3rd was July 16 and October 18 all for the same problem. Each technician that came out did the same thing- recharged the unit and added freon. This is the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. I called them one my washing machine and my oven and both times they told me the problem wasn't covered. They will fix small things like a drippy sink but when it comes to large items you better not count on them. The old saying you get what you pay for is very true with this company.

This company has a shady policy. There are some vital systems that are not covered and unless you read the 1000 page policy written in #4 font, you will not know until it's time to file a claim. My washer stopped working and I described the issue as "the door didn't open" rather than "it stopped working in the middle of the cycle". When I filed the claim online, It said I had to call and when I did they told me that the door lock was not covered. I still have the technician come to my house to check it out. The technician's assessment was that the main electronic module was fried and that they will let Choice know and order the module. Choice denied paying for the claim because... Read More

Our air conditioner stopped working. We contacted Choice on the internet and within about 30 minutes we were informed that a technician was assigned to our case. The technician immediately contacted me and scheduled a time to work on our air conditioner. He arrived on time and fixed the air conditioner in about 30 minutes. I am very pleased with Choice and the work that was done.
