We requested a quote for a single family home of less than 5000 square feet in a small midwestern city. The premium for Choice Home Warranty's Basic was $47.85 per month and the premium for its Total pan was $54.95 per month. With the cost difference between the two plans being only about $7 per month, to our mind, the Total plan a better value overall because it includes coverage for three of the most common appliances: refrigerators, washers, and dryers. It also includes coverage for air conditioning systems.

The company's co-pay for a service call is $85, slightly less than most comparable companies. The co-pay may be reduced further with special discounts and promotions.

Cancellation Policy

The contract shall be non-cancelable by the company except for nonpayment of contract fees or service fees, fraud or misrepresentation of facts by the customer, or by agreement between client and company. Customers may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid contract fees. If canceled after 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by the company.

The technician was attentive and accommodating with our schedule. Worked extensive hours beyond normal “business hours” to ensure issue was addressed. Would look to alternative forms to co firm appointments- not an issue with the tech but workflow in general. Many numbers go to spam when not a contact or can’t be answered. Consider text confirmation

I had a problem with the shower arm and the threads stuck in the fitting. the whole fitting had to be replaced, so the had to cut the drywall. The claims adjuster said all repairs would be covered by the 85.00 deductible. But when the drywall was repaired they wanted and additional 85.00. I was upset because one adjuster said one charge and she misinformed me.

CHW did a great job scheduling the tech and the repair far exceeded expectations. The tech was great, did a super job and was very professional. We could not have asked for a better outcome with our garage door lift. CHW really came through for us and I am super pleased. I wish every customer experienced this result as it was really done well.

Joe was very kind and respectful as he analyzed the problem with my water heater. No actual work has been done yet so I cannot give a higher rating. I do have a problem with the amount Choice has asked me to pay out of pocket as Joe said its a pretty straight forward job and does not expect any problems, Joe said talk to Choice about this issue and Choice says talk to Joe so not sure how this will turn out.

I know this is not choices fault, but a sears tech was supposed to come out to fix my ac. Temps these past days have been hovering around 100 degrees. I have an elderly parent and asmatic person in the household. I recieved anotice in the am they were coming by 6pm. computer said he was arriving at 2;51pm, nothing, no one showed up. I called sears tech in salisbury md, they said tech had an emergency and they wouldnt be able to send someone until sept. Then I called choice cust. service and she said the tech was still on the road and probably running late and to wait. Well, no one showed or called. I was able to get it fixed the next day on my own, BUT, I do not want to deal with sears... Read More

I have had a home warranty for the past five years. I just switched to CHW this year and had to use their service only a few months after becoming a customer. I was very pleased with their response time. They sent out a contractor in less than 24 hours. The company they used was excellent as well. My HVAC was leaking and the contractor took the time to find the source of the leak which was a clogged pipe outside. He received approval from CHW to flush the pipe and solved the problem. The cost was minimal.
