Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

The customer service representative was very helpful and was able to locate my account and provide the needed information quickly. After reviewing the contract which she provided to me via e-mail I question the contract end date as being October 3, 2019. I purchased the warranty coverage on September 3, 2018 with the understanding that I was to receive 2 free months of coverage which should logically make the contract end date November 3, 2019.

Avoid at all cost! Awful service. Does not provide the services they claim they will. Select Home Warranty was unable to find a contractor in my area. When they finally did get someone, the person came out to the house, removed a part, order a new part and then never came back to finish the job when the part came in. Select Home Warranty was unable to get another contractor to finish the job. I ended up cancelling the service with Select Home Warranty and they kept almost all of my money (because I paid the entire amount in advance) and it was "pro rated" plus charged me an "early cancellation fee" even though I only cancelled because they were unable to fulfill their obligation.

I use to be a handyman but I am getting older and it is harder for me to do things alone. I decided to go with Select Home Warranty because of their affordable packages. I have rental properties and physically, I could not do all the repairs all the time. It is just easier to have one of the tenants call SHW and have them deal with the people instead of me running back and forth. I have seen how SHW works , they get the issue resolved efficiently.

So many home warranties to choose from. So many things to consider in getting the right home warranty. I decided to go with Select Home Warranty. Yes, I have read a lot of reviews. There were good ones and there were a lot of terrible one’s. My Dad said I’m crazy for choosing SHW among the bigger, older home warranties out there. I simply said, it’s okay Dad, they might be new in the industry but that doesn’t mean they are no good. Bad reviews are bad reviews; those are all feedbacks from people who don’t read their contracts and their coverage. . You have to understand new companies would give their best to get competitive in the industry. So far, I am happy with them

This is just a simple note to Select for helping my husband while I was on a business trip last month. I received a call from my husband that our water heater broke. I was in Jersey City at the time. Despite of the time differences, the person whom I spoke with handled my claim intelligently. She scheduled a repair visit the following day. When my wife called to report what happened, she said that the repair person came 9am time and was able to troubleshoot the problem with the system right away. Thank you Select for being always available wherever and whenever we need help.

Can’t say enough good things about Select! No wonder they were awarded the best warranty company in 2017. They were just in service for 7 years but they have accomplished so much. I signed up with them 4 years ago and I have great experiences with them. Trustworthy, Professional and Friendly are just few of the good qualities the people who work for Select have.

After carefully researching a few warranty plans, I decided to fill out the info online, but decided to wait a few days before submitting it. I was contacted by 4 different agents, leaving me messages. I finally chose the agent, who sent me an email to call and discuss the details. I was glad he did, as he offered me special pricing for seniors. The agreement wasn't sent to me in a timely matter. I received it by email, not in the mail as promised, 5 days later. Also, be aware that although the refrigerator is covered, the ice maker is not.

Saving money for other things instead of spending it for house system repairs is what makes me happy with Select. Spending $60 instead of $2500 for a heater problem, paying nothing for a clogged disposal issue and saving $200 for a new dishwasher. These are just some of my savings since I signed up with Select a year ago. Yes I have had 3 claims in the past year but they were exceptionally handled by Select’s people. Keep it up Select!
