Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

Their service is awful. They were deficient in arranging for repair of a gas leak urgently. They are plainly unsafe. The company even drags it's feet to refund me, for almost 6 months and even now, they made another "mistake" and returned a smaller sum that they themselves had agreed too, after I complaint to Better Business Bureau. Our AC went out 2 days ago. Heat index for the past 4 days and next 4 are 105-110. No response from assigned repairman, phone doesn't even work, yet SHW refuses to assign another technician until Mon. They keep saying they're "sorry for the inconvenience." Really? I'm a pet-sitter so it's not like we can go to a motel for a week! Their other solution is that we call another HVAC company and pay for it ourselves! Don't waste your money. This is the first claim in over a year of being "covered."

I had an issue with my garage door opener and it won’t open my garage door so my car was stuck inside and I can’t get it out so I missed a meeting with my boss which is important for them and the company. I called Select so they can fix it as soon as possible which they did the other day. As soon as I got back at work my boss gave me a bonus so I won’t be absent anymore. I know it's too good to be true but I experienced it firsthand.

The night before Christmas my oven stopped working. At that time of the year, i know that chances are, I won’t get it fix in time for dinner. I called Select Home Warranty and was glad someone answered my call. I told the lady the importance of it getting fixed right away. She just said I understand and that she'll try her best to send someone out. I was truly thankful that someone did come to my home and repaired my oven. Thank you Select.

I have been ripped off of thousands of dollars because SHW sent a guy to my home for an HVAC problem...there is no business address, the guy was never vetted by SHW and in checking with the VA State Professional and Occupational Licensing Board, the guy has never had a license even as a Contractor of any kind. SHW accused me of not following protocol (they would not answer their phone) ...the story is convoluted. Bottom line, after a month, I finally got someone to call me back today regarding this bogus technician. They offered to send someone "free of charge" to go over my whole system (which is brand new now and still not cooling upstairs), but so far, no one has returned a call. DO NOT... Read More

Bad Services: I put a claim in and the Contractor that they referred, spoke so bad about SHW, that Contractor expressed not to call him. Well, I call back SHW, Customer Services, expressed that they had to contact the Contractor. I expressed what the Contractor said, and they did not believe me. I had to wait 48 to 72 hrs. to get services. SHW did not contact the Contractor and they did not have any other Contractor. Well they told me to get my own Contractor, due to know other Contractor that can deal with my Air Cond. issues. Well, I get my own, and they did not wanted to pay me what they own me. SHW keep telling me about procedures and Policies. SHW is a Joke. NO good services.

I have a property that I am putting in for rent and decided to purchase Select Home Warranty plan like what I am currently using with my home. I do not think I could find a better home warranty than Select. I have never had any headache with them and all my claims were properly handled. All the repairmen that they dispatch for my claims were all knowledgeable, professional and efficient. I don’t think I would be able to find a better home warranty than SHW.
