Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

I rate SHW very poorly on trustworthiness - sales person makes no effort to disclose the important highlights - I honest advice to new and potential customer to read the fine prints before signing up. Service is lousy and takes long time to finish a service.

STACIE B., LA 6-1-18. I WAS VERY SKEPTICAL AT FIRST. I TOOK OUT THE MONTHLY PAYMENT AND WAS TOLD I WOULD BE EFFECTIVE 30 DAYS LATER. WELL IT IS ACTUALLY EFFECTIVE 30 DAY PLUS 5 ADDITIONAL DAYS IF YOUR PAY BY DEBIT/CREDIT. I DID HAVE AN ISSUE WITH EFFECTIVE DATE AND A CLAIM THAT WAS QUICKLY RESOLVED QUICKLY BY A MANAGER. THEY ANSWER QUICKLY AND CLAIM TURN AROUND WAS 24 HOURS LATER FOR APPROVAL.

The communication was completely professional and all of the my questions were answered. I was most concerned about what home appliances and any if additional items could be added to the policy. The monthly payment, annual payment and deductible cost when calling for service. Everything that I expected and more with the customer service representative.

I woke to find I had no hot water. I reached out to SHW and was told I would get an email within 48hrs. I got no email. I called back. They told me I wasn't covered for a tankless water heater. I told them i didn't have a tankless system , I have an oil burner. After speaking with several reps. because i did not have a poicy number..(they never sent me a policy even after requesting one, something I wanted to review)they finally told me my burner wasn't covered. I told them I purchased the policy specifically for this (was told it was covered) and my tenants apartment and after several more calls, finally cancelled the policies. They kept calling me. I woke up last Thursday morning and saw that my refrigerator stopped cooling. I called Select Home. The representative that took my claim was polite and friendly. She was very helpful and assured me that she would find someone to coma and do the repair as soon as possible. The rep said that I will get an email right away with the contractor’s contact information. The contractor did answer promptly and came out within that day. Excellent workmanship.
