Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

After writing my first review the supervisor called me to try to make things right. He was really nice and seemed like he wanted to help. I have decided I may give them a second chance. Still not sure about them but if I decide in the future they deserve a better rating I will give it to them.

I bought select home warranty under the impression that they would cover repair cost to my appliances. I made a claim when my refrigerator quit working and nothing good came of. First of all I waited 2 days and heard nothing from a appliance repair person so I called and select informed me that no technician had accepted my claim so if I wanted to get my own they would reimburse me. I got someone to come that day and paid $75. Then he gave me a quote to fix it for almost $500. I sent the paperwork to Select and a week later after calling many times they finally told me they would cover $150. I decided to cancel my warranty because of no trust in this company. Lost a ton of money before I had a warranty and ordered one with my new house on the recommendation of the previous owner who had a good experience with SHW. To date, its been 2 years and the previous owners washer and dryer combination unit in my basement broke and both were covered for repair with new parts and labour.

we have 2 refrigerators and 2 kitchens so had a special policy. my claim was handled with care when the second refrigerator broke. they gave me a time window in 3 days from my call. The supplier was on time clean and efficient with the replacement parts.

Sump pump jammed with yucky stuff so I had to call Select Home for service. Septic Cleaner came and cleaned everything out. I was glad they came on time and were kept a clean work area and didn't garbage leave.

When I signedup in May I really took my time reading over the contract of them and another competitor. I opted for them on a monthly basis and since then got a pretty affordable rate. I requested a dryer spin cycle test that I felt was malfunctioning. Someone came in 3 days and found a fault by a jam in the cycle structure. It was fixed and runs smoothly again.

We have 3 kids and the dishes never seem to end. Was such a pain to see the dishwasher broke. The claims department online was fast and easy. It took 24 hours for a call back and another 6 to setup an appointment. When the appliance director came he told me some kind of issue occured with the wiring getting wet. He had to spend an hour replacing it and did a thorough job.

Drain backed up from the sewerline in the street and a city sewer problem. I cant believe the city does not cover this... SHW did cover repair after I had to discuss the issue and wait for manager approval for 3 days. Very frustrating situation all around although having this warranty saved me from a real huge hassle.

The staff at Select Home Warranty were so patient when I was completely freaked when the electric went out in my house. I called them from my cell phone and they told me to check the box in the basement and see if the switches were on. There was a short and one went off. I flipped it back on and it was functioning again except for my living room. They had to call in an electrician who fixed a faulty switch.

Possibly the best warranty company. They are my fourth, yes thats right fourth company in 5 years. Each one dropped me for making more than a single claim. They just did not want to pay out and honor the service. Select has done fantastic in this department. I now am with them for almost a year and will renew. I made two claims. Pipe cleaning and fire place cleaning. Honored and delivered in 5 days one time and a week the other.
