Cancellation Policy

Select reserves the right to cancel the service contract in the event of fraudulent conduct or misrepresentations by the customer, failure to make the required payments, or upon agreement.

The customer may cancel the agreement within 30 days from the order date of the agreement and will be entitled to a full refund only if no service has been provided under the contract.

After 30 days, the customer may receive a pro-rated refund for the non-discounted annual plan cost. The customer will be charged a $75 cancellation fee, plus any service expenses incurred by Select Home Warranty.

I took the platinum plan for 3 years and paid the money upfront. For the first year we did not have any breakdown and everyone felt that we might have wasted money. In the second year we had a series of breakdowns and the third year was even worse. The problems were resolved fully and the efficiency of the home warranty team was nice. At this juncture everybody realized that we had made the right decision.

I was not buying the home warranty from the sales person but when he made a special offer near Christmas, I went for it. As a bargain, I had got two months extra warranty coverage. Great going for a bargain hunter like me.

When I bought a house, I made the mistake of not taking the insurance for my appliances. Initially for two months I had the time to run around and get the repair done for the breakdowns, but later on it became a pain to handle. When I had to miss the office for the repair errands, was the time I went for this product. My suggestion to all of you is to learn from my experience.

The Air conditioning failure in summer can be very painful and that happened on a peak summer afternoon. I quickly made a claim with the Select. By the evening the repair technician had arrived. He got on to the job immediately and replaced the faulty relay which was preventing the AC compressor from switching on. What a relief when we got the cool air once again. Thanks again.

Plumbing stoppage can wreak havoc and that’s exactly what happened in my home a few days back. We were ignoring the slow drainage for quite some time and one morning it came to a standstill. We were saved by the timely intervention of the plumbing expert who had responded to our claim on the home warranty front. He restored the smooth flow of water in the plumbing lines. Thank you Select's team for the timely action.

It was raining when my sump pump broke down. The claims department was requested to expedite repairs. I got a call back from the repair company in 15 minutes. I told them about the rain in the area and requested that the technician arrive with the necessary gear. Luckily the sump pump relay had burnt out and the technician could locate and replace the defective part. The sump pump was operational once again and the collected water was drained in 1 hour. I thanked select for making the right effort even under adverse circumstances.

When my clothes dryer broke down in the morning, I knew I had trouble coming if the repair was not carried out immediately. I resisted my temptation to go out and instead called up claims department. You won't believe how fast everything transpired and I had clothes dryer functional well before the evening set in. Great job!

Worst customer service. From the representative that you first talk to, to the supervisor and the manager. Never kept the word on call back times none of them. I got told they would only cover $150 for the clothes washer then when I spoke to the manager she said $51. Been 5weeks and my clothes washer is still not fixed.

This company will lead people to believe that it is wonderful. It is far from wonderful. It refuses to cover anything that commonly goes wrong with your air conditioning and heating units, or your water heater! Even though you were given a deal when you sign up for 3 years, when you cancel they base your refund on the normal cost of a policy. I've had the policy for a month. When I decided to cancel because I realized they were not going to pay for leaks or anything that normally goes wrong, they charged me $169 dollars of the money I had paid. My heater broke down at 3 AM and the first thing I did in the morning was to call the claims department. Within half an hour the claim was approved and the technician arrived. The repair was done and the heater handed over back to us within 2 hours. If I did not have this Home Warranty, I honestly don't know what I would have done in such a situation.
