Figo is a Chicago-based pet insurance provider that cover cats and dogs. Founded in 2012, Figo takes a very technology-centric approach to pet insurance, incorporating a cloud-based platform to manage all your medical records and relevant information.

The company offers plans that cap benefits at either $5,000 or $10,000 as well as an unlimited benefit plan.

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

Figo covers all dogs and cats 8 weeks and older. There is no upper age limit, which is great as many other plans have one. There are also no breed restrictions.

Waiting periods for accidents and injuries is 1 days, and 14 days for illnesses. There is also a 6-month waiting period for problems associated with hip dysplasia and orthopedic, but the waiting period may be waived if your vet submits a form that certifies your pet has no pre-existing orthopedic conditions.

Figo customers have exclusive access to the Figo Pet Cloud app, including features like a 24/7 Virtual Vet and easy mobile claim filing. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions, but Figo is the only one who will help you identify those conditions at the start of your policy. If you don’t think you’ll get value out of pet insurance after your initial review, just cancel within 30 days of signing up for a full refund.

Figo's claims process is completely paperless and features fast and easy mobile claims with an average approval time of 2-5 days. Over 50% of claims are closed in 24 hours. Submit claims right through the Pet Cloud app by simply answering a few questions and sending a picture of the invoice. Evie, Figo’s AI chat assistant, will walk you through the process step by step. Once your claim has been submitted, their real-time claims tracker allows you to see exactly where your claim is in the process. Turnaround times are faster if you select direct deposit.

We have been with FIGO for years and have never had an issue with customer service or reimbursements. Great company & peace of mind knowing they have our fur-babies backs. The only thing I wish they might do different is after a pet passes is maybe send a condolence card via email or in the mail. After years of us trusting them with our babies medical needs it would of been nice to of received. But that’s not a deal breaker ..

Firstly, I want to say that I wish I had researched any bad reviews years ago before I ever signed up with FIGO. It seems that others are in the same boat as I am! I have been a loyal customer of FIGO for approximately 4-5 years now. I have NEVER needed to use the insurance however, I continually paid my monthly premium on auto-pay (by now, thousands of dollars total). I initially went with them because one always worries about getting coverage for pre-existing conditions whether it be minor or major and they seem to have stated they had a good policy with regards to considering a pre-existing condition something that has happened within the last 18 months. I am so happy and so relieved to have Figo. We had a serious emergency with our dog and we were reimbursed 80% of that large fee. For those that see any negative comments, please remember that people, unfortunately, will take time to complain than praise. When you’re upset, you want people to know. I admit, during this hectic time with my dog, I fell for the negative reviews as well and started to panic that Figo wouldn’t reimburse me. But I was wrong. I am but am probably going to drop them. I signed up because they seemed to have the best rates for the best coverage. This was true for about two years. My Princess was diagnosed with a heart condition a few months after I signed up. The claims procedure was quick and easy and I always got my money withing days, not weeks or months like my previous company. However, the reason I am dropping is because they changed underwriters and now my policy premium increased 103% a month, the deductible raised by $350, and the coinsurance went down 10%. I was highly skeptical about pet health insurance before FIGO. After two years of good health our dog needed surgery. We were stressed out about the surgery itself, let alone the financial burden it could present. However, the claims process was super easy to navigate with the app, any questions I had were quickly and thoroughly answered, and reimbursement directly to our checking account was much faster than expected. Thank you FIGO for making life a little easier during a stressful time. We would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who has a “fur baby”!

Figo has given me incredible peace of mind with our beloved dogs. I know that Figo has our back with all of the dogs' healthcare needs. After a total CCL tear with one of my dogs, Figo (without question) has paid for not only the surgery, but all of the physical therapy needed to get him back on all four feet! If any of the dogs has any health issue, I feel totally comfortable taking them to the vet since I know Figo will reimburse us. The quick turn around time of the claims, the customer service, and the pricing are all beyond compare! I love that we don't get dinged for using the insurance. I have recommended Figo to many other people, and they all love this company as much as I do!

We have three dogs of various ages and breeds. I spent a lot of time reviewing the several pet insurers and we decided that Figo was the best fit for us. In the three years since we've had the policies we submitted three claims. One claim was very complicated and involved several caregivers and hospitals. It did take us time to accumulate all the required documentation, but once all was submitted the claim was settled to our satisfaction and relief within literally a few hours. The other claims were settled in a couple of days. One thing we did as soon as we started the policies was a full vet assessment for each of the dogs to avoid any question of pre existing conditions.

This is our first year switching from another pet insurance company to FIGO. We had to file a claim and we were extremely impressed with the communication and quick resolution of our claim. So far....we have no complaints and only praise for FIGO and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for straightforward business practices.

The app is incredibly easy to use to submit a claim. All of my claims have been approved for reimbursement so far. This year when renewed our policy, I was able to tailor it to fit into our budget. Highly recommend!
