Overall Rating: 4 / 5 (Very good)

Figo offers extremely generous coverage for the price. Its standard plan covers items that most high-level plans won't unless they are made available as costly add ons.

Figo is the only company we are aware of that has a 100% reimbursement option at their highest premium rate. The company unlimited coverage as an option. In addition, pet owners can add one of three PowerUps to their plan: Wellness, Veterinary Exam Fee Coverage, or the Extra Care Pack.

However, Figo is relatively new and doesn't match the long track record some of our other featured companies.

Figo Coverage

Coverage - 4.5 / 5

Figo offers three plan levels and all of them provide substantial coverage for the price compared to most other companies.

Figo's least expensive plan covers normal accidents and illnesses, but also things like prescriptions, hip dysplasia, alternative treatments, prosthetics, mobility devices, and treatment for behavioral problems.

Figo imposes no exclusions for hereditary or congenital conditions, or pre-existing conditions if they have been cured for 12 months.

Our dog is almost 3 years old and is a high energy goof ball that only knows one speed: fast. We have made 4 claims through FIGO since we got him at 10 months old, and they've always been very quick to respond and reimburse us for covered expenses. The claims process is very easy through their online portal. I have had nothing but positive things to say about FIGO since we signed up. That being said, they are switching underwriters at the moment and my policy is changing. My monthly cost is going up $4/month (including a $2/month installment fee), my annual deductible is going from $200 to $500, and my max annual benefit is being capped at $20k when it was previously unlimited (hopefully... FIGO stood by us when our special dog had her health problems. They paid our claims immediately and fairly. We have since insured our two new pups with them, of course. Very highly recommend FIGO.

Figo has been excellent at handling my claims quickly. Customer service has always been extremely responsive and easy to get a hold of. The only thing I find odd is that with 100% reimbursement, they exclude what they refer to as “administrative” costs which basically means they will not pay the tax on any claim. I’ve never come across that with any of the other insurance companies I had used in the past. Tax gets charged on medications I believe, so I consider it a part of the claim and I still have trouble understanding why it’s excluded. Other than that, they are very straightforward in their handling of claims and they have covered thousands of dollars worth of surgeries for my... Read More

At first when my pets were enrolled I had purchased some polices both with FIGO and another #10 top rated company with another pet to see who provided the best service when and if I needed. I was hoping to use in emergency and surprised when it was needed other than that. At the beginning claims were slow (3 years ago) but kept getting emails saying they were improving and to please be patient. They have SIGNIFICANTALLY improved with VERY QUICK responses. I couldn't be happier. Also, When I would volunteer at the animal shelter I would recommend the new adopters look into this. I couldn't be happier. FIGO has been GREAT to say the least. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them.

I lost my last dog Princess due to not being able to afford medical care she needed due to a brain tumor. I was determined not to let that happen again, so I did a LOT of research into pet insurance plans when I got my new dog Bella 2.5 years ago. I compared so many different plans from a ton of companies, and I decided on Figo. I'm just now going into my 3rd year of coverage with them and have been very pleased. It was a little slow on claims processing that first year, because they were a new company, but that problem was quickly resolved. Claims are now processed in a day or two, and reimbursement is in my bank account a few days later. Bella needed knee surgery for luxating patella,... Read More

I am so ashamed of myself for signing up for this pet insurance. I have been paying on my policy for almost a year. I needed to file a claim for my cat as she was throwing up. I took her to the vet hospital they really did not find anything wrong with her. They did give her some medicine as they felt she may be having a problem with defecating. My cat had this problem around 3 years ago but the vet did not find anything that was causing this. She said she may have eaten something that caused this. Of course, when I submitted my claim to FIGO they denied it as they stated that this was a precondition that was not covered. My total vet bill was $932. I agreed to the additional testing as I... I paid for three years and never submitted a claim. Now my premium was raised almost $200 and my deductible doubled! Ridiculous and unfair! I canceled

I have Figo insurance for my Ollie. We had an issue in the very beginning with the 14 day waiting period. My dog was rushed to the ER on the last day of this period and they refused to pay for it. I was very upset as the bill was over $700 and we may have lost him if I had waited a few more hours. I had thought we were actually ok but they didn’t start the waiting period the day I purchased the policy. That really angered me. I even called to beg. I almost cancelled but didn’t want another waiting period. Since then I have filed a few new claims. The filing process is simple, the response time is immediate, and they pay their portion very quickly. I haven’t had any further negative... Read More
