Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

My Microwave has been broke now for a month. Its about 14 months old. I purchased an extended warrantee from Lowes . I filed a claim and they sent , so far two companies to fix . still not working. They promised they would send a third company July 5th at 8 am to fix it. It was a no show!!!! Now I can't even get anyone on the phone. Horrible!!!!

My rating is a big fat zero! The companies lowes contracts with are awful. 3 appts to have my dishwasher fixed and no one ever shows up. lowes solution is to Reschedule……with the same providers that didn’t show up the first time! What a waste of money for the protection plan……never, ever again. Still trying to get this fixed. Ugh!!!!

We are about 10 weeks from the first call to the Lowe's warranty call center, Hold times each time have been 45-65 minutes. After each call of the last three calls we were told we would receive an e-mail in 2-5 business days as they were placing our inquiry in "escalation" status. We called the appliance repair service that Lowe's sent to our house to see if they had heard anything and found out they had ordered a transmission for our washing machine. However, the part had not arrived they could not tell us when or if they would receive it. In the meantime, a board goes out on the machine and it will not even turn on. PLEASE do not purchase appliances with protection plans from Lowe’s. I have been fighting for three months, trying to get my refrigerator fixed. Every call begins with a one to three hour wait time, before even reaching a person. Once you do speak to a person, they routinely either hang up on you or somehow lose the call. When they say they will call you back, they never do. Getting a service call is difficult. They schedule it for weeks out, only for one thing or another to happen, causing the appointment to be cancelled. For example, one place they tried to send does not service my area. A disgraceful useless policy. Called for service under warranty. Was on hold for 57 minutes. Appointmwas was set for 4 days out. Technician never showed up. They LIED to me and said we were not home. Bold faced lie. We never left our home. Sat there and waited all day. I called them, spoke to a manager who rescheduled 2 WEEKS out. This is unacceptable for a broken 7 month old refrigerator. STAY AWAY FROM LOWES AND BUY FROM BEST BUYS WITH GEEK SQUAD WARRANTY. Never had a problem with them in many years with multiple products.

BUYER BEWARE!! Extended warranty is a sham. Purchased refrigerator/freezer with icemaker. 15 months later icemaker quits. File for extended warranty repair. Lowes says they will send out technician. Appointment is cancelled. Parts are ordered. Parts do not come in. Lowes says they will do a buy out. End of information. People at the store can not help. Called the number for their Assurant Customer Care - they can not find our contract or any information - they tell us they will get back with us in 48 hours. They do not get back with us. Call again. I would not recommend Lowe's protection plan service any longer or Lowes appliance without a protection plan. My husband and I have been an avid purchaser of major appliances from lowe's mostly because of the protection plans they have and the service we received in the past for repair services. We have had to call 7 times for our fridge to be fixed and get the repair done through out Lowe's protection plan in the last 4 years without an out of pocket expense. We even purchased a 5 year plan. Since I have called 7 times I am very used to dealing with kind, informative, and responsive team members. SAMSUNG DRYER not heating. I have a 3 year protection plan. Waited 1.5 hours on hold only to be told they could not locate my info as their system is being updated. They asked me to email them a picture of my receipt and I wait. I will NEVER again purchase a worthless service.

Unable to receive repair service by calling the extended warranty phone number was told wait two days and get back to the because system is being updated. I have a problem with my refrigerator under extended warranty and cannot wait to begin the process all over again. I waited 1 1/2 hours to speak to someone for a foreign call center. Could not understand what he was saying, no help at all.
