Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

DO NOT BUY WARRANTY. They will not answer phone nor call back. Water heater not working. Looked up warranty and called number. Received a recording to leave message or call during time they mentioned. I decided to call next morning. Recording said to stay on hold or leave phone number and someone would call back in 12 minutes. I left my number. Waited for 1 1/2 hours. No call back. I called and put my phone on speaker. No one answered. Just a repeated message. After 1 hour I disconnected. I call a local business and it cost me $105 to fix water heater. I would like to mention. Go to Home Depot. Call The warranty company they have and they have immediate response. No problems and... Read More

I have a Samsung Front load washer. I've tried to get Lowes to send a repair company out to fix it for over 2 weeks. The apparently don't have someone in this area to repair a Samsung Washer. I live in a metropolitan area so I don't know what is the problem. I would never recommend Lowes protection plans to anyone

they supposedly got a new appliance repair system and its terrible, i have been give 2 different days appts for repair of my Samsung refrig. (good thing it was not major issue!!!) and both times NO ONE showed up, the 2nd time i called the service place given and that person said they immediately responded to Lowes that they did NOT service Samsung appliances.. but i guess it didn't get handed off to whomever made my appt. I am very discussed with this Lowe's repair center...try calling and its 30min wait... oh they call you back if you so choose, live 4 hrs later MAYBE... terrible for customer services, take the $$ up front and the hell w/the customer when they need assistance..

I bought a combination Bosch Oven/Microwave unit a few years ago and have been very happy with it. Given the importance of the appliance and the expense, I purchased the extended warranty. The Microwave stopped working and I called Lowes to initiate service repair. 2 months, 6 service calls, 5 installations of the SAME part and it still does not even turn on. And the oven is now intermittently not working. I call Lowes and most of the time they cannot even find that I have a warranty with them...in spite of me providing my info and the case #. then when I escalate (several times), they log the escalation and say that someone will contact me....no contacts! we purchased a three year extended warranty from Lowes on our washer and dryer , the washer died and required service , we called Lowes repeatedly and after waiting an hour on hold it would just hang up , the next day we opted for the call back , which took two hours to happen we made an appointment that was over a week away . The appointment day came and went no one showed no one called , how unprofessional and poorly run is that . we called service again , they offered another appointment almost a week away ! I was very disappointed with Lowes extended warranty. I had to wait on the phone for over an hour every time I have called. I have had to wait over a week each time before they would come out for service. There has to be better options. In the future, I will pursue the options like manufacturers extended warrant. I checked, they could have come out in two days compared to the 10 days that Lowes plan provided.

LOWES WARRENTY PROGRAM ON APPLIANCES IS A WASTE OF $$$$ WHEN YOU CALL YOU ARE ON HOLD FOREVER THAN THEY WANT THE MODEL # AND SERIAL # FOR APPLIANCE. SHOULD THEY NOT HAVE THAT UNDER YOUR NAME??? THAN THEY PUT YOU ON HOLD!!! I GOT TOTALLY FUSTRATED AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS AND CALLED MY LOCAL REPAIR SERVICE CO. WHO CAME OUT THE NEXT DAY. MY OVEN IS NOW FIXED without jumping through hoops. NEVER AGAIN WILL i BUY EXTENDED WARRENTY PROGRAMS......WASTE OF $$$$ and time!!

I purchased a whirlpool frost free freezer and had it for 5 mo ice keeps building up around the door called lowes and they wanted me to call the Co whirlpool or find a technician to repair it not my job its on warranty plus I puchases the extended I finaly got in touch with whirlpool and they wanted me to contact a dealer again not my problem its up to them to find someone to fix it after 3 weeks on the phone with Lowes and whirlpool we had a technician come up to look at the freezer the door is junk it was molded all wrong the door gasgets could not make a seal they have to order a new door and have no clue how long it will take to get one. I bought a washer and protection plan but what good is it if you can’t contact anyone. This is my second day trying to reach them today I’ve been on hold for 3 hours and haven’t spoke to a human yet. It shouldn’t require this much effort! The protection plan will be expired by the time someone picks up my call. Beyond frustrating!!!
