Lowe's offers appliance repair services through the manufacturer's warranty and through their appliance protection plan. If the problem is covered by either of these, the appliance will be repaired by a certified technician at no cost. However, if it is not covered, repairs may be offered by the technician at the customer's expense. The protection plan promises basic benefits, such as functional part and labor coverage, normal wear and tear repair, and reinstallation coverage, among others. Unfortunately, the plan's terms and conditions mention that they do not cover accidental damage or abuse, routine maintenance and consumables, and cosmetic damage, unless specified. Here at ConsumersAdvocate we recommend customers to read the terms and conditions thoroughly to inform themselves on Lowe's protection plan features and restrictions. Lowe's also offers a replacement plan, but is only eligible for products that retail for less than $300, after all discounts have been applied. This excludes major appliances and water heaters.

Do not buy Lowe's protection plan. I bought one on an LG refrigerator and within 1 year had an issue with the water dispenser not stopping for 2-3 seconds after removing the class from the dispenser causing water to continue to pour out onto my floor. I called for service and they contract with a company named L-Electronics. The serviceman, Daniel came and said there was nothing wrong with the dispenser since it was not doing it while he was there. It happens randomly, sometimes 5-6 times a day sometimes not for 1-2 days. He refused to do anything because he said it was a very difficult repair. 1 week later we called again because it kept doing it, he came and tried it and again... Read More

Do not buy from Lowes anymore and their warranty!We’ve called Lowes since The beginning on October 2021 for ourSamsung washer that just stops washing. They send out a repair man that was very limited in English and hard to understand and ever told us what the issue was. He said it works. Apparently after not hearing from any repair for a couple weeks I called to find out the part needed for repair was on back order and to call back weekly. Well I see from reading through here that I'm not alone. In spite of my extended warranty on my fridge, here I am, 2 months after it stopped cooling with zero resolution. Their service provider repeatedly cancels service and has already told me there is nothing more that they can do to repair the fridge, but still I have to wait for them to come and do whatever to it while they reschedule time after time. Lowes CSRs lie and lie and lie - they are trained to lie no matter what. They will not even cover enough for me to continue to rent a fridge so soon I will be completely screwed. Shame on you Lowes. We bought a new Samsung dishwasher from Lowe's almost 3 years ago. In addition, we bought a new washer/dryer, stove and refrigerator from Lowe's. We have had problems with the dishwasher from the start - the soap dispenser malfunctions. We have had your repairmen come out 4 times now only to find the same problem. We were promised a new dishwasher several times if it wasn't fixed "this" time. I am sitting here waiting for a repairman to show up "sometime" today. I can't get an estimate for when he will arrive from the unhelpful young phone operator. I've been buying appliances from Lowe's for years. NO MORE! Buyer Beware! If you need a warranty, I would shop elsewhere. We purchased all the appliances for our kitchen from Lowes and got an extended warranty on our fridge and double oven unit. As it turns out, the Fridge stopped cooling after 1.5 years, so we called Lowes and then sent out a local company in Central NY called Northshore Appliance. The tech came out the first time and unplugged/plugged in the compressor and said, let's see if that works. I report back the next day saying it did not work, so he says to get a thermometer for the fridge to see what the temps are. So we buy one and confirm the fridge is at 50 degrees. I purchased an extended warranty on a Samsung Gas Dryer. I’ve had previous repairs done by differing service providers. It is now giving the “vent sensor” error again. The time and date Lowes Warranty repair give you are always a week or more out than what someone will actually come out to address your issue. Even the warranty repair agent told me their scheduling system never syncs up with the service providers. A technician has come out twice in recent weeks with TEKNITON but never fixed the issue. Twelve days after reporting my oven is shutting down and locking its door when I heat it up, Lowe's Protection Plan warranty folks have not yet sent a repair person to fix it! At first they told me there was no authorized repair for my Bosch range here on the Monterey Peninsula. Then after the next call when I told them I had found an authorized repair business within 10 miles of my home, they informed me that they didn't have a contract with them.
