Our garbage disposal went out at 8pm one night. At 8:30am the next morning American Home Shield had a contractor out at our house and within an hour the garbage disposal had been fixed. Great experience considering this was our first time using our warranty.

Have always had good service with AHS. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the 30 minute hold time waiting to talk to a representative. The last several times I have called on a claim, I was on hold for literally 30 minutes. They need more workers and more lines to handle this. I actually put my phone on speaker and then continued doing other work around the house waiting for someone to pick up.

As a first time home buyer, of an older home, I knew it was important to have a home warranty. AHS was recommended by my parents, per their experience. However, mine has not been as positive. My billing cycle and amount were not set up correctly. It took multiple phone calls for one person to finally figure out that I needed to speak to a manager (although, I knew that was my next step). After which, I spoke to the retention department, as I was very frustrated by that point. The gentleman in that department did resolve my initial billing issue, as I had been charged for a monthly payment but shouldn't have been. When I called about my washing machine they arranged for service to come out to do the repair. It took the repairman 2 trips to my house over a werk apart with a call from me in between visits to get the job done but that wasn't AHS fault. The job got done properly.

What ever problem arises - AHS can be counted on to fix the problem with in 48 hours. I recently had a the garbage disposal quit. Made the call and a professional plumber was dispatched within 2 days. Choose AHS every time.

I have had an issue since April that is still not addressed. I have called in 4 times to get it resolved. I am still waiting on a supervisor to call me back and that has been over 7 days now.

I have been waiting for 6 weeks to have my air conditioners repaired. The company contracted to do the job are not responding and AHS will not switch to another contractor. Calling to speak with a representative takes over an hour and there should be another way to contact.

I got nothing but fraustration and runaround from this company, couldnt find an email address to contact them. Was on phone over an hour waiting and noone ever picked up on the other end. They basically cover nothing. One job for water heater replacement cost me over $500.00. The leak in my a/c still not fixed. Dont know who was worse them or Epic Mechanical in Cabot AR. Was told 1500 to fix the unit and never received or could get an itemized written bill from either company. Needless to say. Cancelled my contract.

It is extremely difficult calling with the high call volumes daily. This is hard for working people to speak with someone. Online follow up is no better. There has to be a better way customers to communicate.

As a consumer, having a Home Warranty Policy is important to me because when appliances or electric/heating/AC units cease working it can be very costly. I chose American Home Shield and I have never been disappointed or tempted to look for alternated warranty companies for warranty services. If I were to pick two areas which American Home Shield could improve it would be:
1). Customer service wait time is excessive.
2). List of Service providers are limited and needs to be expanded.
As far as meeting the service needs and repairs, American Home Shield has been a great company to work with for my Husband and I.
