American Home Shield may be good for some things but don't buy with the expectations of quick service when you AC goes out in mid July (100°+ Weather). We had to wait over a week for one of their "Approved Vendors" to confirm my AC compressor had in fact failed. I waited patiently for over a week in the hottest part of summer and they denied my claim on a 15 year old 5 ton Lennox outdoor evaporator unit stating it was not installed to manufacture specifications. I bought my house less than 1 year ago. Me and my family were subject to extreme indoor temperatures for over a week to only find out they would not cover the unit. I have been a customer of American Home shield since May of 2012, when I first bought my house. For the fiorst few years, they provided very good service, and even replaced a heat pump/AC unit that needed it. They sent the same repair people to our house, so we could build a repoir with those companies. For the last 3 years now, AHS has changed. I have heard through the service people that the company has been bought, and now the service is deplorable. They only fix the minimum that they can get away with, even if replacing a unit is of equal or similar cost. They have sent repair companies that we dont know, and that do not seem compatent. I placed a called on July 18th for my air conditioner. I live in San Antonio, TX so it's hot. The technician said 2 - 5 days for the part and that he had ordered the part. I check status today with AHS, and was told that they ordered the part YESTERDAY, 7/23. They claim they are waiting on the vendor to give them a receipt date. But they didn't order the part until 5 days after I placed the call in the first place! So now I and my wife (both senior citizens) have to be in the July Texas heat with no air conditioning because AHS can't honor the agreement that I have religiously paid for monthly. After 2 months of Been with them still no contract
No policy no welcome package
Nothing.
Worst third world customer service ever. Speak almost no English. Match you with companies that have no clue and are dangerous to you and your family. Companies that no one in their right mind would hire.
Do NOT get 2-10 home warranty.
I was told by company they sent that the claim was denied due to "improper installation". When I spoke with 2-10 they said improper installation was covered under the warranty but it was not improper installation.
THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE A COPY OF THE TECHNICIAN"S SERVICE ORDER so when I said a thermostat was bad they related they did not know that but it wasn't covered because it went to the damper control board. What do they think a thermostat does!!!
Well first off you try to call them for a service and it takes 20 minutes to get someone on the phone so they will say, you should just make a claim online. Well their online claims are bull crap because you can't explain anything, I literally just had to click sump pump even though I would have told them it was an external sump if I could have. I even checked my contract to make sure external sump pumps were covered. And under plumbing it said sump pumps were covered, however right below the covered items are the NOT COVERED items and I read through those and nothing was stated about the external sump pump not being covered. AHS gets a 1 rating because they do not always listen to my concerns, they use sub- standard contractors who don't always know what they are doing and behave arrogantly when they show up for the service call.
Whenever I call you about a problem, your phone agents talk like they don't know what they are doing, either. Phone skills are lacking because they have not been properly trained but just quickly put into the phone queue.

Vet your contractors for quality and character. Stop just taking our money and sending out mediocre-to- bad workers.
Not a good company it took 2 weeks to get my ac fix I had to call everyday they use to fix ac a lot faster use to recommend them not anymore and customer service is a joke u can not understand them and they lie just don’t under stand what happen to this company I was told I would get consession well that did not happen this is what customers service told me
Not too happy right now. I’m 75 and when my a/c went out I was left in 95 degree weather for about two weeks. They are working on it now, but who knows if it will actually work for more than a day or two
