AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

Don't ever pick them. They may have the cheapest price, but you pay for it. They literally cover almost nothing and everything they do cover has limits and exclusions. Please pick someone else. I have never been more frustrated with a company, and the problem is on our first house we had one guard and they were such a good company. This time I wanted to save a couple of bucks. Worst mistake ever. Their employees are also incredibly rude.

I have included a link to your previous company, they have covered, non-covered and limits on items. That being said I do see your AC unit was above its useful years with no annual preventative maintenance if maintenance were preformed as stated per guidelines the full cost of repair would have been covered. It is important for you to meet your obligations to ensure the membership works to the best of its ability. Since you have been a member now for several years I would be happy to do a one-time goodwill increase of payment to $345.00 additional to the $180.00 you received to cover the estimated cost of repair on the unit.

This service is incomplete; the technician was unable to correct the issue and a new appointment with technicians able to complete duct work was supposed to be scheduled. Instead, my Service Request was closed. This Service Request must remain open until fulfilled.

Was very miss informed on what they actually cover. Was basically told what I wanted to hear just so I would buy there warranty. Would definitely not recommend them to anyone I know honestly. Supposed to have a $60 service fee, that ended up costing me over $200 out of pocket. Save your money or buy from another company. Learned my lesson for sure.

The contractor showed up 2 hours late. The contractor wanted us to take off work again for them to come back and make a 15 minute repair. The contractor acused me of being abusive after he told me we were going to have to take off again. I expressed to him strongly that this was not satisfactory base upon his track record of being tardy. I at no time cussed him or abused him. I feel that as the customer I have some right to express my displeasure with shoddy performance. I will continue this conversation with the BBB.

Don't buy this policy! Went with the Platinum Plan and had coverage on my well pump. After coming back from vacation, found we had no water. Called America's 1st Choice and was told I had to wait 24-48 hours to get a technician assigned to my case. Was told I could have a tech come out and diagnose the repair, even asked the representative that sold me the policy if there was someone he could recommend in my area, which I was told he knew no one in my area. Cost of replacement pump was $1,799 and today I was told the warranty would only cover $250! This company is worthless would be better saving your money for any unforeseen home repairs.

I bought America’s 1st Choice Warranty because I read the reviews and believe that is good Home Warranty. I paid in advance for whole year.When I got my Agreement with them I was very surprised that I am not eligible for first month of services and second month company will pay only $150, than fourth month when I called about the water leak from my AC filter they said that they didn’t cover it.They were guessing that I have leak because I AC filter is dirty or my drain pipe is clogged. I told them that already check all those things and everything is in good stand but they denied any services for me.I am canceling my service with them and hope that nobody have my experience.

It is industry standard that HVAC water leaks are not included for coverage as they are maintenance items. We still try and support you with troubleshooting when an item it's a maintenance item but Home Warranty covers mechanical failures. With some search, I have found the following information in writing on why AC filters leak when it is humid outside per your initial request. "The most likely reason for a wet air filter is that a condensate drain line is clogged, causing water to backfill the drip pan, overflow the pan, and fall onto other parts of the system–such as the filter. ... When that happens, water can get all over the place, including the air filter." I’m disappointed with the service. From the AFC every time I call, I have to wait on the phone for a long time to get to talk to someone. From the technician, the company never called me back to confirm the service. When they finally called, they told me the technician will be there in 15 minutes. My husband had to run back home and cancel his other appointment. How we supposed to know so we can stay home for them.

Eric from Integrity Air worked one and a half hours trying to get air conditioning to work. He changed a fuse but let me know it may be a temporary fix. Made recommendations to replace blower limit switch. I will call you if I need an additional service call. Maria Robinson

I am shocked at how you can take people's money for years and then when they need an item repaired offer a pittance. With the outright fraudulent sales process, it amazes me that your company hasn't had charges filed against it for deceptive business practices, fraud or similar. I look forward to fighting AFC for a full refund of all premiums and legal fees.

Mr. Baker, We apologize that you are not satisfied with your membership. Please be aware we show we have serviced your home for 2 years and paid $900.00 in services to you from 2018-2019. Unwittingly as much as we wish there could be blanket coverages on homes it does not exist, at least for the yearly premium that Home Warranty companies charge. All companies in this industry have guidelines and limits, there is no coverage besides a property management company that can take away 100% of the homeowner's responsibility. Please be aware we are acting in good faith and have not gone outside of our approved guidelines of coverage.
