AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

Overall, the service has been very good. However, this was my first time having to really utilize the service, as I had an after-hours emergency plumbing issue. I was I initially told that $40 of the service fee was refundable, but after my claim was reviewed, I was told that I was not eligible, since it was an “after-hours” service charge. I don’t know why that would matter. I would have gladly waited for any AFC Home Club refereed technician, but couldn’t, as my entire plumbing system was no longer operable. My first experience using the warranty has not been a good one. The first issue was the lack of vendors. I called for an issue and after three days, the company was not able to find a vendor to come out. I finally had to find my own vendor and had that approved. The vendor came and gave an estimate for the work which apparently was higher than what I had paid into the warranty, which was not made clear when I signed up. I was told I would be responsible for the entire amount of the repairs. I spoke with the vendor, who redid the estimate and brought it down considerably. Called about two weeks ago about a plumbing problem. They sent out a contractor and that took another week. I paid my call fee of $75. Guess what the problem is worst today.

The process is unwieldy and takes too long. I got an email message telling me to have the service tech contact AFC while he was at my house, but a representative who called me before the appointment gave me the opposite instruction -- the tech doesn't need to call. I had the tech call anyway and he got approval from AFC to order the part and schedule the repair. Then I got a phone call and multiple emails from AFC 5 days later telling me that my service request was in process (even though it had been approved and confirmed). It remains to be seen whether I'm going to be out of pocket any more than the original service call so I reserve judgment on the quality of AFC's warranty.

AFC is requesting that you update your star rating. The technician called on 7/24 to advise that the parts needed to be ordered. We requested the place the information in our online portal to review parts. AFC found that we could get the part needed quicker if we ordered it. We ordered the part and the technician called the member to schedule an appointment to install. All services are covered on this request 100% by AFC Home Club which we just informed the member of at 1:54pm EST today. As for the process, we are an administrator and cannot help if there is a delay with technicians available on nonemergency items as we are a requirement to send brand certified technicians and not just anyone to work on Thermodors. We find the average member is happy with the excellence of service and follow up but we can notate your account if you wish to not have followed up preformed. Thank you for your time and we look forward to your updated rating.

All representatives were very helpful and responsive. Appears to be a strong team atmosphere as I communicated with several different representatives and all were up to speed on my claim so there was no reiteration of the issue. Also, my claim was honored even though I had a misunderstanding about the terms of the warranty which could have possibly dis-allowed my claim. Big thanks to AFC for being so understanding and taking care of us!

Lousy customer service. Poor communication. Does not live up to contract. Could not provided a repair service. I had to find one and submit a bill. Pays MUCH less then repair/replacement service cost. Will be canceling my contract in the near future. Completely dissatisfied. Will be filing a complaint with the BBB

Even after explaining the date that I would be able to Re new my services I was contacted way too many times. I gave a specific date of the 12th at the latest that I would re new my services and I was contacted every day for a week until then. Also every time I was contacted by Conor he continued to try to offer me deals that I told him I didn't want because I couldn't afford to pay 3 years service. I could only afford to pay for the one year renewal. On the day of renewal I called, which was fine And still he asked if I wanted to pay for 3 years.
