AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

AFC responded quicky to my request for problem with my garage door opener. They called several times to let me know my request was approved and let me know that a co will be calling back. And that call was received quickly. Within two hours the technician arrived. He assessed the problem, notified AFC and within 2 hours my garage door opener was fixed and works perfectly. And so quiet. I am amazed with their polite, professional service. Thank AFC.

I had paid the technician the $60 diagnostic fee and so he told you the repair cost was a flat $250.00 and then you said you are only going to reimburse me $190.00 because you are deducting the diagnostic fee. Your program says I am to pay that directly to the technician so you should pay the total repair of $250.00which also had added sales tax of 10.1 percent so I was really ripped off by AFC.

Buyer be ware. When I purchased the warranty the sales said that the warranty covered everything. Twice I tried to file a claim. I was put on hold until the associate could find a reason not to owner my request. I would not recommend the company for dog catcher. Once they get your money they spend time looking for reason not to owner the request.

I echo everyone's comment that this company is a rip OFF! They deserve every single negative cement. Why are they rated "B" in Bette Business is a mystery. DO NOT USE THEM! I called them 3 times thinking I was going to get some help with my repairs (that is why we all buy home warranty insurance) . All 3 times it was a bunch of excuses and loop holes that they use to say "sorry, you are on your own. I actually left Total Protect who I had for 4 years to sign up with AFC and I regret it. Total protect covered every single repair I had called in, The reason why I left is that they raised their fees. Bit I am going out shopping again because there are BETTER companies out there than AFC... Read More

AFC - What an atrocious company. I just mailed out my cancellation letter. AFC happily collected our $520 last year. Unfortunately, we didn't make any service requests or else we could have saved the $520 we paid this year. We had the audacity to make service requests for our tub faucet and washing machine... After paying the $60 service fee for the faucet, we discovered only the first $150 of repairs are covered. Surprising, but fine, it is in the contract. We paid the extra $70 bucks, so we did save $90, by my calculations. A month later, the same leak returns to the faucet. AFC sends the plumber back out and he reports back to AFC. Run from this company. You pay them and every excuse is given when you need a repair. Any other company has to be better . Wasted dollars

Mr. Denton, We apologize that you were not satisfied with your coverage. Please be aware the failure was due to a cracked heat exchanger. It is industry standard this item is not included in coverage. It is a life-threatening failure and normally has a 30-year manufacturer warranty.

I literally do NOT see the value in AFC. Same as comments seen below, we bought a house, had ALL maintenance and repairs services come out and provide PROOF that all of our units were in working condition. Now there have been SO many random issues- washer not working (not covered because washer is still under warranty), a pipe broken from HVAC unit (that piece is not covered and would cost thousands to fix and is the error of install on the builder (house is like 20 years old) and NOW I call to have a refrigerator repaired. I call to make sure the part IS covered. They say it is. We get it fixed and the bill is $495. Now they just called me to say that because our fridge is 14 years... Read More

When I purchase my home warranty from Preston sales manager in October 2018 I was told that I am purchasing maximum coverage for my home this company offers. We discussed what appliances I have in the home and was told that all of them will be covered. In February of 2019, I submitted a request for repair for my hot water unit and fan for my stove and was denied coverage for both. I feel that coverage was misrepresented to me and I was lied to at the time of the sale.
