AFC Home Club’s hybrid policies cover many of the same systems and appliances as its competitors.

Notwithstanding the lack of included specialty items, a good benefit is their user friendly, every-item service cap of $1,500-$2,000. HVAC systems are subject to no coverage caps, which is a great addition for the company.

AFC Home Club only covers issues that arise after they begin providing service. Exclusions covered in the below link refer to AFC's Platinum plan, which is the most comprehensive.

Exclusions in other plans will be the same as Platinum covers all items one might find in other plans.

In addition to a personalized quote calculator and sample contract available on the website, a 30-day refund policy is guaranteed, as is a pro-rated version after that period.

Cancellation Policy

Customers can cancel the policy any time for any reason for a pro-rated refund. If AFC cancels a customer for non-payment, though, no refund is due.

New members may cancel within the first 30 days of the order date for a full refund of the paid membership. After 30 days, the customer shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid membership fee, less any claims paid or time used in membership by CRAST, and a $75.00 cancellation fee.

AFC Home Club's service fees of $75, $100, and $125 keeps them competitive with comparable companies in the industry. Its 30 day waiting period is fairly standard.

AFC allows customers to work with out-of-network contractors of their choosing.

However, they do have to be licensed, bonded and insured. AFC only requires maintenance on HVAC systems in the first year of the contact.

Moreover, if a claim is filed before the 30-day waiting period has expired, the maximum payout amount is limited to $150.

SCAM - DO NOT BUY! 1. Charged 2 - $75 cancellation fees for same property saying was 2 contracts (duplex gold policy). No cancellation fee was ever disclosed, discussed, or warned at the time of cancellation, or when I called to discuss the cancellation process. 2. RUDE Managers, rude customer service reps. 3. NOTHING was ever covered. They always had some excuse as to why their policy did not cover the repairs. 4. At time of renewal (never needed/used the first year) the Sales Rep said everything was exactly the same, however the policy changed dramatically (specifically spa's/whirlpools no longer covered). They "DON"T DESERVE" a single star. Consumer beware of this company they will deny all the repairs your need. First, I called them for our leaking water heater, they denied. Second, we called for our broken garage door spring, they denied. Third, we called for our heater furnish, again denied. So I'm paying this company monthly for nothing. Then I still have to pay $60 for co-pay. Total rip-off. I don't usually give a review but for this company, I think the consumer deserve to know. Don't be another victim like me, so PLEASE never use this company.

I have been with this company for 4 years. I am surprised about some people having a negative experience. There may be some covered and not covered things but I do not know anyone who covers the entire house 100%. Either way I have nothing but good things come out of this coverage. I had my dishwasher and disposer replaced. They shipped them right to my door. I had a washer breakdown that was even more than the washer cost in the first place so they sent me a check and I bought a new one. I had referred them to my friend who also had a good service and I got a referral credit of $25.00. I cant complain thats for sure!

This company is terrible! After days of AFC attempting to find a service provider for our furnace they were unsuccessful. Had the same issue with our refrigerator, and AFC unable to find a service provider. They also always find a reason why the issue is not covered by their home warranty. So I literally wasted my money on paying for a home warranty through this company. Please, please, please never use this company!

How can ConsumersAdvocate give a 9.4/10 to a company rated so poorly by so many customers on your own site and in so many other sites, including Yelp. Are you reimbursed in any manner by America's 1st Choice? My own experience with this rip-off company has been really bad. They will only send you the detailed information after they've sold the product. There you find that AFC will only repair your HVAC if you get somebody to do preventative maintenance beforehand (that cost me $125). Even though I got AFC's high-tier Platinum (over $500/year) policy, its list of "non-covered" exceptions far exceeds what's "covered". 3 times I had problems that would have been cared for by my prior... Read it carefully, 60 days for coverage ? you pay for 12 and get 10 months ? And, exclusions and limits make sure you are better to insure yourself. Example if you read it carefully...... you have a $300 faucet, they replace it with a builders grade faucet you can buy for $19.95 , then you have to hire someone to install it....

Buyer beware !! This is a scam. Make sure you understand that they are not like other warranty companies. A personal experience. Called about a broken garbage disposal. They would not send out a plumber since they say once a garbage disposal is broken ,it can't be fixed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to call a plumber, pay the plumber and they will reimburse you for part of the cost of the disposal but none of the cost of the disposal. There supposedly is a $60 fee to send out a repair person and they either fix it or replace it. NOT SO FAST !! The Gold contract says they will cover components and parts. That is a lie !! I am a customer and have been for a little over a year now and decided to re-up my contract with AFC for another term. So far they have been pretty easy to work with, have paid two claims without a hassle, let me pick and choose my contractor and offered a great contract option when I signed up for an additional contract term. I didn't purchase a contract expecting to need it, so I haven't been let down but if something does go wrong I am pretty confident that AFC will take care of me. I know a lot of companies get a bad rapport, so hopefully my experience is helpful.
